    Sussex 110-2 need 68 in 42 balls

Very good from Jordan Thompson, three singles and two dots to begin the 13th.

    Sussex 106-2 (12 overs) - target 178

Yorkshire try to slip in another over of Adam Lyth.

Delray Rawlins is out at No. 4 and he rocks back and punches between deep midwicket and long-on for four.

Luke Wright brings the hundred up with a single to midwicket.

And then Rawlins sweeps off a top edge for six over backward square.

Nowhere near the perimeter of the ground but good enough for these poxy boundaries.

    Sussex 94-2 (11 overs) - target 178)

Excellent progress for Sussex but yet to take a chunk out of this equation.

Another stand needed to keep this chase running.

A lovely catch from Harry Duke and Yorkshire have a second wicket.

Ravi Bopara is trying to leave one in the end just outside off that bounces a touch.

But he doesn't get out of the way in time and a thin outside edge is really smartly held by a diving Duke to his right.

    Sussex 90-1 need 178

Jordan Thompson just loses his line with fine leg up and a tickle brings him fifty in 32 balls.

    A fine knock.

    Sussex 86-1 (10 overs) - target 178

    Oh goodness.

An inside edge rolls to Matthew Waite on the 45 and he totally overruns it and the ball slips past him for two more than they should have got.

Ravi Bopara then places the last ball of the over wide of short-third man for four.

Another excellent over for Sussex and the visitors very well placed at halfway.

    Sussex 75-1 (9 overs) - target 178

Ravi Bopara out there for Sussex now and he's away.

  11. wicket

WICKET Salt c Lyth b Thompson 27published at 20:40 British Summer Time 24 August 2021

    Sussex 72-1 need 178

    Vital wicket for Yorkshire.

Slightly strange stroke from Phil Salt with his partner going so well at the other end and the partnership doing real damage.

He tries to take a fullish ball over long-on but gets nowhere near enough on it.

    Easy catch for Adam Lyth.

    Sussex 70-0 (8 overs) - target 178

A tight set from Matthew Waite and a very welcome over without a boundary for Yorkshire...almost.

Luke Wright steps down, frees his arms and swings one wide of extra-cover for four.

    Sussex cruising at the moment.

So what can Adil Rashid do about this?

Not much to begin with as Phil Salt blasts a boundary straight back past him. Gorgeous, effortless timing.

They milk a few more singles and another good over for Sussex.

Matthew Waite with the final over of the powerplay.

Luke Wright giving himself more room outside off and he crashes a boundary through cover.

Only an excellent diving save at background point prevents four more.

And then final delivery is swung straight up in the air by Luke Wright - only for wicketkeeper Harry Duke to drop the skier!

Outstanding powerplay for Sussex. A good haul of runs and most crucially, no wickets down.

Matt Fisher again. He's up there at 89mph.

Luke Wright is down the pitch and giving himself room to hoick Matt Fisher over cow corner. First six of the chase.

Two more leg side heaves take only fresh air before a single to mid-on.

    Another good over for Sussex.

    Sussex 35-0 (4 overs) - target 178

Dave Willey back to try and shore up this powerplay for Yorkshire.

Luke Wright with another shimmy leg side but this time only a hack for one to mid-on and a pull for another single.

Phil Salt whips firmly to deep midwicket and then last ball finds the gap between that fieldsman and deep square.

Matt Fisher with the third over.

A huge top edge from Phil Salt - it goes miles in the air and is never going to be caught by Matthew Waite running back from 45. He does well to get a hand to it.

Last ball Luke Wright steps to leg and slaps one wide of mid-off for four, fine piece of timing.
