Luke Wells going flat outside off and then fires one in to the blockhole.

Three dots to open up the 14th.

Single to deep cover gets Tom Abell back on strike.

    Surely has to go again?

And he does, conventional sweep for four to raise fifty in 32 balls.

  2. Somerset 110-3published at 13 overs

    Need 75 from 42 balls

A good scramble brings an early two - when a better throw from deep square may have ran Tom Lammonby out.

Then Tom Abell gets his reverse sweep out again and once more times it to perfection.

    Change the field lads?

No-one back here either as Abell takes one over extra-cover again, this time for four. So lovely to watch that stroke.

Tom Lammonby needs to increase his tempo a bit. He can't leave it all up to Tom Abell in this chase.

  4. Somerset 97-3published at 12 overs

    Need 88 from 48 balls

Liam Livingstone is back with whatever spin he fancies.

    Two singles and a dot.

Tom Abell tries to sweep but only a single more to deep square.

But then goes up and over extra-cover all the way for six!

Lovely piece of batting just when the pressure was cranking up.

  5. Somerset 87-3published at 11 overs

    Need 98 from 54 balls

Tom Lammonby is the new man and touches Danny Lamb for two to get off the mark into the on side.

An excellent 12 balls for Lancashire and now the asking rate up at almost 11s.

Good piece of bowling, brilliant slower ball. It looked a really tame dismissal in real time, but it's huge in the context of the match.

    Big moment.

Slower ball from Danny Lamb outside off.

Will Smeed advances and is rather done in the flight and chips it to backward point.

  8. Somerset 83-2published at 10 overs

    Target 185

Another spinner now with Luke Wells' leggers.

Pretty good stuff and only five singles and a wide.

    Even at halfway?

  9. Somerset 77-2published at 9 overs

    Target 185

Tom Abell again on the reverse sweep and nails it once more.

Somerset ticking very nicely with these regular boundaries.

Momentum back with Somerset after losing those two early wickets. They've regrouped and this pair are building a strong partnership.

  11. Somerset 69-2published at 8 overs

    Target 185

Liam Livingstone with his slow box of tricks.

Tom Abell goes on the reverse and gets it away for four.

Then Will Smeed is back and flicking firmly wide of long-on for four more.

  12. Somerset 56-2published at 7 overs

    Target 185

Here's some spin from Tom Hartley.

Tom Abell nails a reverse-sweep to backward point and is almost caught - would have been a screamer.

Then Dane Vilas wants a caught behind - nothing from the umpire.

    Tidy set.

Spin has got to be the way forward. Pace off the ball means you've got to put more energy into your shots. That's going to be the defining moment - how well Somerset play the spinners.

  14. Somerset 52-2published at 6 overs

    Target 185

Tom Abell with a classic cover drive get a boundary first ball.

And then Will Smeed finishes the powerplay with a shimmy down and a smack over long-off.

    Somerset back on course.

Who's Liam Livingstone? This boy can hit a long ball and that's an incredible bit of timing to clear those flats.

  16. Somerset 37-2published at 5 overs

    Target 185

Slower ball from Tom Bailey that beats the bat.

Then one that gets past Will Smeed's slug to leg and traps him in front surely?

No says the umpire! Good call. Hawk-eye has it just slipping down.

Smeed survives again and then advances to heave over midwicket for six. Great strike.

Very frustrating for the bowler when you get a big wicket like that and overstep. Will Smeed could really punish Lancashire now he's been given an extra life.

  18. Somerset 26-2published at 4 overs

    Target 185

Will Smeed takes advantage to pull for four.

And then a tremendous save on the backward-point fence saves four more.

Better over for Somerset and a huge, huge let off for Smeed.

The ball is rocketing off Will Smeed's bat so far.

But he's picking out fielders again.

Then he swings and is caught behind...but Gleeson has overstepped!

    Oh dear.
