Du Preez hits Heather Knight for two consecutive fours. They needed that - Spirit had really been drying up the runs and there hadn't been a boundary for a while.

Danielle Gibson comes on to bowl - the young fast bowler has had a difficult couple of years with a back injury and a torn ACL to come back from, but she's had an excellent Hundred - she's an amazing fielder and a great character too, she has an infectious energy.

Spin is going to play a massive part today. It's a used wicket which means it can take turn for the spinners. The team which plays spin better will come out on top.
Heather Knight bowls her spin, and it's definitely working. Mignon du Preez gets just the one run.

We're expecting a good turnout today with 15,000 tickets already sold, according to Dave who works on reception here.
Dave is the heart and soul of Lancashire County Cricket Club - he always greets you with the friendliest of smiles and never forgets a name.
We should all be more like Dave.
Brilliant stuff from Deepti Sharma, who bowls so slowly that it was hard for Lizelle Lee to get it away.
Looks as if spin might be the way to go today, which is good news for the Originals because they have loads available.
Lee lbw b Sharma 0 (Originals 30-1)
And it works!
Among Lamb's boundaries I hadn't even noticed that Lizelle Lee was still on 0, something that doesn't happen very often because she is usually the big hitter when she bats.
She goes for a big sweep against Deepti Sharma but it strikes her on the pad.
Deepti Sharma comes back on to bowl as Heather Knight tries to wrestle back some control after Emma Lamb's onslaught.
Here we go!!
First six of the day and Emma Lamb is going for it. It is pitched short from Munro and Lamb pounces, thumping it over the leg side.
That's more like it! Emma Lamb takes two consecutive fours off Sophie Munro. That'll make her feel better after being tied down by Deepti in the previous over.

This is really slow off-spin from Deepti Sharma and as the batter, you have to put all your momentum into hitting the ball.
Kit talk aside, Deepti Sharma bowls a very good set of five that Emma Lamb can't get a run off.
There are a few questionable appeals in there, but she's put the pressure right on the Originals batters.
You'd definitely say Spirit and Originals have the most 'classic' looking kits - the classic all-black and all-blue combos. I think Originals' would be my favourite, I'm not sure I could pull off the likes of Rockets' bright yellow.

Of all the kits, it's the London Spirit kit I like the best.
Ah, that's a shame - it was a very tidy start from Sophie Munro but her last ball is very wide and goes past Tammy Beaumont for four.
Why are London Spirit's team so young?! 19-year-old Sophie Munro comes on to bowl, and Grace Scrivens also plays today who is only 17.
It's making me feel ancient.

Old Trafford also has the biggest boundaries!

Of all the grounds in The Hundred, Old Trafford has offered most to spin.
The first boundary of the day comes from the bat of Emma Lamb. She follows it up with a very solid block in respect to Charlie Dean - who is a very highly regarded spin bowler.
