Ethan Bouchier: Listening to the women’s cricket on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, and hearing there’s another Bouchier or ‘Bouch’ in the UK, never thought i’d be saying that... madness!

Sarah Glenn comes on for her first over.

Can she find the wicket England need?

A stunning shot to finish the powerplay, her hand-speed through that ball was very quick. It was past the cover fielder before she even knew it.

    Target 128

And Sophie Devine smashes the final ball of the powerplay through cover for four just to round off that disappointing over from Tash Farrant.

Devine motoring on to 22 off 19 balls already.

That looked like the slower ball, Sophie's picked it up very quickly and she's such a strong girl, even her mis-hits go for six.

    NZ 39-1published at 5.3 overs

    There goes Sophie Devine again!

Slower ball doesn't quite come out right for Tash Farrant and that's swept away over the fence for another six.

Suzie's a bit short on cricket after her injury, New Zealand haven't played a lot in the last few months and England will be pleased to have almost burgled a wicket there, thanks to some brilliance from Mady Villiers.

Tash Farrant returns to bowl the last over in the powerplay and Amy Satterthwaite is the new batter to join Sophie Devine...

Fantastic by Mady Villiers, she's one of the best fielders in this team. It was hit so hard to her, but she's hit the stumps. What a piece of fielding, it's not easy at mid-on and mid-off as your instinct is to defend, but she's attacked the ball and that could send the momentum England's way.

WICKET Bates run out 8published at 5 overs

    NZ 31-1

    And she's gone!

Full-length dive could not save Suzie Bates there.

  13. NZ 31-0published at 5 overs

This could be the breakthrough they need.

Bates with the quick single to Mady Villers at mid-on, who throws and hits the stumps.

That's one of Bates' strengths, hitting powerfully down the ground.

  15. NZ 31-0published at 4.3 overs

    Bates 8, Devine 12

Bit too full from Nat Sciver and Suzie Bates strikes powerfully for four past mid-off.

    Some power in that.

Nat Sciver returns for her second over. England looking for a breakthrough....

Sophie's got a beautiful bowling action, very pleasing on the eye. Part of the reason she's so good, is that it's so repeatable. That's what the bowling coaches look for - whether she's bowling her arm ball or her stock delivery, she'll have the same action. What a character she is - I forget how young she is [22] sometimes with the amount of cricket she's played.

  18. NZ 27-0published at 4 overs

    Target 128

Another half shout for leg before to end the over against Sophie Devine this time, but nothing doing.

It's worth a shout, particularly with New Zealand's reliance on their top three.

  20. NZ 26-0published at 3.4 overs

Sliding past leg stump unfortunately for England and Sophie Ecclestone.
