Heather Knight held England's innings together with a composed 89.
England then suffered a middle order collapse with Nat Sciver (2), Amy Jones (2) and Sophia Dunkley (5) unable to hang in there with their captain.
Tammy Beaumont played nicely for her 44, making the most of a difficult dropped chance early on. She was out lbw after a very canny review from New Zealand when nobody really appealed for it initially.
Lauren Winfield-Hill was the first to go for England and it was a soft dismissal.
Alongside Tammy Beaumont, they added 44 for the first wicket and capitalised on a wayward start from New Zealand's bowlers.
Cheers, Kal.
What do we reckon, then? Is 242 enough? New Zealand did rely heavily on their top three during the T20s so perhaps they'll be more confident with more overs available to them.
England will not be happy with those collapses. Let's remind ourselves of what happened in that first innings.
This game is intriguingly poised. While England will be disappointed at the two collapses, they will still fancy their chances.
Taking you through the break and the first half of New Zealand's innings will be Ffion Wynne.

England lost 4-31 in the middle of the innings and then 5-13 at the end.

England's innings has rather limped to a close. That feels below par, especially given the partnerships between Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight, and then Knight and Katherine Brunt.
Ecclestone run out (Satterthwaite) 5 (Eng 241 all out)
No, they won't.
Confusion, hesitation, a mix-up... call it what you want but Freya Davies and Sophie Ecclestone both play their part in a run out.
England set New Zealand 242 runs for victory.
Dean lbw b Kerr 1 (Eng 241-9)
Clipping leg stump! It was a slower ball from Jess Kerr and hit Dean midway up the leg. Will England even see out the full 50 overs?

Charlie Dean was just walking off and Sophie Ecclestone shouted after her 'Review!'
She might as well use it, but it looks pretty out.
Is debutant Charlie Dean out for just one? It's been given lbw and the batter reviews.

That's a good catch from Brooke Halliday at cover. She had to jump pretty high but she timed it perfectly to take it over her head.
Cross c Halliday b Devine 5 (Eng 241-8)
This one is a legitimate delivery! Kate Cross is reaching outside the off stump and Brooke Halliday takes a fine catch at cover.

Poor Charlie Dean! How long has she been waiting for a bat?!

Oh it's a no ball! What drama! Ecclestone's coming back!
OH MY! I'm just preparing a wicket entry as Sophie Ecclestone is caught at mid-off. The England batter is walking back and bowler Sophie Devine is celebrating.
And then comes the outstretched hand of the umpire. It's a no-ball! Divine had overstepped the mark.

I think England would want 250. New Zealand's batting looked too top heavy in the T20s but it's different in this format, with Sophie Devine coming in at five.
A ramp shot from Kate Cross brings her a four from her first ball. Off the mark in style.

That's well bowled from Jess Kerr. Brunt was trying to flick it through the leg side, but it's too straight and she's played all around it.
