While the pitch is difficult to play on, which is has for both sides, the outfield is just running away. You get good money for your shots.
Too full from Freya Davies and Satterthwaite pounces, just using the pace to push it through the covers for a boundary.
The pitch is still playing nicely and the outfield is rapid. If these two stay in, New Zealand definitely still have a chance.

That is a glorious shot from Devine. There was enough width for her but it was wonderfully played.
A no-ball from Cross gifts Satterthwaite a free hit but she can't make the most of it and manages just a single.
Sophie Devine makes the most of some width though, absolutely crashing one through the off side for a boundary. That really was crashed.
You'd say that all of New Zealand's hopes rest on the shoulders of these two. No pressure, then.
Unfortunately for New Zealand, Maddy Green departs when she was the only batter to look even remotely close to being comfortable at the crease.

Brilliant catch, really well held from Knight. It was all about the reactions - she managed to get her hands down, diving forward and holding onto it like a baby.
Green c Knight b Cross 19 (NZ 31-3)
Another loose drive, another edge to slip. New Zealand are in tatters.
Lovely bowling from Cross, pitching the ball up and forcing Maddy Green to drive. She gets some late swing that takes the edge and it's a good low catch from Knight, too.
Amy Satterthwaite has a big role to play here. She likes to bat for long periods of time, and with all her experience won't be feeling too much pressure yet.
Four leg byes off Freya Davies as she strays down the leg side. New Zealand won't care in the slightest how they come.
New Zealand get another boundary!! But only thanks to four overthrows as the ball ricochets off the stumps.
Kate Cross is not impressed.

Can we rename the powerplay? There's not much power going on.

England were 47-1 after their powerplay.

I fear that was rather inevitable. It's stellar bowling from this England bowling line-up. She had to play at it and try and get a few runs on the board but she couldn't manage it. This is a cracking start from England.
Down c Jones b Sciver 5 (NZ 17-2)
A second for Sciver and this is a far from ideal start for the visitors.
A rather tortuous innings from Lauren Down comes to an end - she goes for five from 26 balls.
It's a lovely delivery, Sciver getting the ball to swing away but Down was tempted into the big drive and all she can manage is an edge through to the keeper.

That's utterly devastating. You've just seen Brunt from the same end not concede a single run and then your first ball goes for four. I'd walk off now.
Kate Cross replaces Katherine Brunt and her first ball is crunched through cover for four for New Zealand's first boundary! Yes - the first boundary in the ninth over.

That wicket of Bates, it was almost like a Test match dismissal.
Here's the wicket of Suzie Bates that England took early on after applying plenty of pressure first up.
That's more like it. Nothing too extravagant but the batters just ticking things over and not allowing Sciver to build the pressure too much.
A firm drive down the ground is restricted to just two thanks to a good diving stop from Kate Cross.
I'm with you there, Tanya.
