Winfield-Hill 1, Beaumont 4
Full and wide from Devine and Beaumont doesn't miss out - gloriously driven through the covers for the first boundary of the day.
A solid start for England.
Winfield-Hill 1, Beaumont 0
And it's the captain, Devine, to open the bowling.
Winfield-Hill gets off the mark straight away with a single down to third man.

For a game being played in September, we're in for a good day of weather.
Sophie Devine brings her team together in a huddle to share some final words of motivation. Tammy Beaumont and Lauren Winfield-Hill stride to the crease for England.
I'm amazed to say that it's actually sunny! In September! It's a miracle.

England used to have a habit of losing the first game of every series. They now have eight games until the World Cup and a chance to iron out those mistakes.

Dean is an amazing all-round cricketer. She turns the ball, really does get revs on it, but she's also a fantastic batter.

Anya Shrubsole's absence is a big loss for England - but, with a World Cup and Ashes looming after this busy summer, Heather Knight will need her less experienced players like Freya Davies to play as much international cricket as possible in case injuries strike or resting is necessary again in the winter.
For New Zealand, Lea Tahuhu's return will give them a big boost. The experienced fast bowler returns to the squad after a foot operation.
England: Lauren Winfield-Hill, Tammy Beaumont, Heather Knight (c), Nat Sciver, Amy Jones (wk), Sophia Dunkley, Katherine Brunt, Charlie Dean, Sophie Ecclestone, Kate Cross, Freya Davies.
New Zealand: Lauren Down, Suzie Bates, Maddy Green, Amy Satterthwaite, Sophie Devine (c), Brooke Halliday, Katey Martin (wk), Hannah Rowe, Jess Kerr, Lea Tahuhu, Leigh Kasperek.
England captain Heather Knight: "We would've bowled first as well, it looks like there's a bit of moisture in the surface so we'll have to bat well as it could do a bit.
"Charlie Dean makes her debut, she's really impressed us and embraced the challenge of stepping up to England. It's a tricky squad to pick at the moment.
"We feel we're building a big squad of players who are pressing for selection and that's a really good place to be as a side.
"We've got a lot of things we want to get better at and being more ruthless in series is one of those and hopefully we can do that in this one."
New Zealand captain Sophie Devine: "We want to have a first crack at this pitch. We've done well bowling first on a few occasions so we want to carry on with that momentum.
"We've got Lea Tahuhu back and ready to come steaming in. Hopefully that means she'll stop bowling bouncers at me in the nets now!
"As a side we haven’t played consistent cricket for long periods of time. And 50 over cricket for us is actually quite a long time so making that transition from T20 cricket to 50, we just need to stick at it for longer."
Sophie Devine calls correctly, and puts England in to bat. Heather Knight admits she would have bowled first, too.
England captain Heather Knight said that with five games in a relatively short amount of time, they will have to look at resting and rotating some of their players.
Charlie Dean's selection today is the first evidence of that. England are also without their opening bowler Anya Shrubsole due to an ankle injury.

We've had a cap presentation at Bristol - Charlotte Edwards has just given a long speech for Charlie Dean, who will be making her international debut today. The Southern Vipers off-spinner was in the squad for the T20s but did not play. She's a batting all-rounder and will likely come in at eight for England today.
We'll have the result of the toss in just under five minutes, but for now here's some early team news ...
Good afternoon!
The T20s are done, it's time for some 50-over cricket. Today is the first of five ODIs, perfect preparation for both sides before the World Cup in March.
