  1. NZ 142-7published at 33 overs

    Need 41 from 54 balls

Good over this for New Zealand. They chip six off the required runs.

Kate Cross strays slightly in her line, and it allows Brooke Halliday to just flick the ball fine and pick up a rare, and potentially crucial, boundary for the Kiwis.

  2. CSK recoverpublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 19 September 2021

In the first match of the restarted IPL, Chennai Super Kings are continuing their recovery against defending champions Mumbai Indians.

Having effectively been 24-5, CSK set Mumbai 157 thanks mainly to 88 not out from opener Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Mumbai have since been reduced to 48-3 after eight overs of their reply in Dubai, with two wickets for Deepak Chahar. Mumbai are without captain Rohit Sharma, with Kieron Pollard skippering in his place.

Here's how Charlie Dean picked up her first wicket of the day...

  4. NZ 136-7published at 32 overs

    Need 47 from 60 balls

Leigh Kasperek has been promoted up the order after her 21-ball 15 on Thursday. She plays out three dot balls, with just one delivery from Charlie Dean straying down the leg side to take them one run closer.

The required run-rate is up to 4.70.

Hannah Rowe was playing across the line, it was completely the wrong shot. New Zealand can still play risk-free cricket from here and just knock it around, they don't need to try and go for the boundaries.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 31.3 overs

    Rowe lbw b Dean 7 (NZ 135-7)

    Absolutely plumb.

There's not much more I can add. Hannah Rowe goes back into her crease, and she misses as she looks to work through leg, and is hit just below the knee roll. It is crashing into the middle of the stumps and England are in complete control.

That looked very out. She's gone back and across, it looks like it's hitting middle and off. They've reviewed this because it's their last chance.

Charlie Dean has got Hannah Rowe lbw, but the White Ferns all-rounder has set it upstairs.

It looks pretty good to me.

You'll all be glad to know that I've just managed to say all the months backwards so I am not writing this live text with concussion.

When you do a concussion test, they ask you all sorts of questions, including to list the months of the year backwards. Which I can't do even when I'm not concussed.

  12. ouch!

    NZ 135-6published at 31 overs

    Need 48 from 66 balls

What has happened there!?! Some extra bounce, maybe even a little bit of spit off the pitch, ends up hitting Brooke Halliday on the helmet, as he looks to ramp it over her head.

That took her, and Amy Jones, who was cowering away behind the stumps too, by surprise.

    Four runs from the over.

She's also going to have some soggy bottoms.

Charlie Dean's shirt is going to need a trip to the laundry.

  15. NZ 135-6published at 30.4 overs

    Need 48 from 68 balls

Kate Cross is back into the attack - she was brilliant before the rain delay, taking three wickets in six overs.

Brooke Halliday plays a nice flick down towards fine leg, and Charlie Dean does really well to scamper round and keep New Zealand down to a couple.

  16. NZ 131-6published at 30 overs

    Need 52 from 72 balls

Again just three singles from the over. New Zealand are struggling to really rotate the strike, largely down to some tight England bowling.

Brooke Halliday tries to be proactive, and use her feet, but she just ends up dragging the ball into her pads. This is only her eighth ODI, but you feel she is going to be crucial to her New Zealand's chances here.

The moment England took control of the game?

Here's the big wicket of Sophie Devine. It's a beautiful piece of bowling from Nat Sciver.

  18. NZ 128-6published at 29 overs

    Need 55 from 78 balls

Normally the New Zealand lower order do struggle, but Leigh Kasperek did put on 34 with Amy Satterthwaite for the last wicket on Thursday. It is possible that could happen again, but you feel they'd probably need a proper batter at the other end, so Brooke Halliday will have to stay around here.

Another good over from Nat Sciver, conceding just three singles. The required run-rate is 4.23.

    Isabelle Westbury
Ex-Middlesex captain on BBC Test Match Special

We saw that important tenth-wicket partnership between Tash Farrant and Danni Wyatt that got them to 197. I don't think New Zealand's lower order are capable of something like that.

  20. NZ 125-6published at 28 overs

    Need 58 from 84 balls

Jeeze. What a shot that is.

Hannah Rowe gets off the mark with a glorious cover drive. She beats Heather Knight at extra cover, and mid off, and the ball races away for four.

    Lovely shot.
