My esteemed colleague Tim Peach asked earlier whether Wood is the most likable sportsperson in the world.

Who else is a contender? No-one can have a bad word to say about Dina Asher-Smith.

Attenborough wins the contest for most likable person full stop, right?

We're looking into the latest on Mark Wood.

He bowled one over with the second new ball before leaving the field.

If/when we hear from the England camp you'll be the first to know.

West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder, speaking to BT Sport: "We had a good session. The aim of the game is to wear the bowlers down a little more. It is a matter of staying patient and then the runs will come."

On his dismissal: "It was a late call to leave it. It was unfortunate to hit the toe end of the bat. I am disappointed."

Nkrumah Bonner is not someone I have seen a lot of. He has played nicely in this innings. Not flash, but solid.

He is unbeaten on 68 from 175 balls at lunch.

    It started well for England.

Ben Stokes had Jason Holder caught behind - the West Indies all-rounder nicking off when making a late attempt to leave - in the fourth over of the day.

Since then the second new ball has been used to very little effect.

    Thanks Tim.

    As flat as Netherlands, that.

Not much in this pitch for the bowlers at all really. Batter error, or patient spells of creating pressure, is going to be the main way for England to hunt for wickets.

I'm off to put the kettle on for a brew and will hand over to Matthew Henry who will guide you through the lunch break and the afternoon session that follows.

That session hasn't really gone how England would have liked - it started off well enough with the Holder wicket, but Da Silva has played some very good shots against the new ball.

That's lunch. A real grind for England. West Indies showed plenty of grit after the early loss of Jason Holder.

Joe Root, eyes squinting, scratches his stubble in the slips. Where's England's next wicket coming from?

Ben Stokes bowls three dots and then sees Nkrumah Bonner nudge one of his legs to pick up a single to keep the strike.

Jim Callaghan: A reading from the Gospel according to Root. Thou must bowl Stokes until exhaustion. Upon exhaustion thou must bowl Stokes until injury.

Ollie Pope with a superb piece of boundary rider work as he slide tackles the ball to prevent it going for four after Joshua Da Silva whips a delivery from Ben Stokes off his legs.

Seb Eaton: The two new ball efforts in this game are a concern. Even accounting for the pitch, there was no pressure or consistency, if we have two experienced bowlers sending it down at 80mph that's the bare minimum.

    Trail by 44 runs

Jack Leach finds the edge of Joshua Da Silva's bat, but the ball whistles away low beyond Joe Root in the slips and the West Indies pair pick up another couple of runs.

  16. WI 261-5published at 91.0 overs

Ben Stokes, who was miserly earlier on, is chucked the ball by Joe Root in an attempt to break this partnership which is now worth 54 runs.

Stokes' fifth ball is short and Joshua Da Silva is over the top of it and pulls it through mid-wicket. It's controlled more than full blooded and he adds a couple more to the total.

As we've been saying for three days, this pitch feels very sluggish, so not easy to breakthrough, even with a new ball. It feels like a missed opportunity to take control of the match. But one more wicket and England are into a long tail.

Jack Leach reverts from his defensive type to toss one up, but Nkrumah Bonner is well set and he confidently sweeps the Somerset left-arm spinner to the boundary for four.

Ball tracking seems to suggest Chris Woakes hit Joshua Da Silva outside the line so a good call by Joe Root, given the pressure on him to review in light of England's desperate search for wickets.
