With this injury to Mark Wood, it is a big concern but it could open up an opportunity to someone like Matthew Fisher or Saqib Mahmood.

We also don't know how Ollie Robinson's back is holding up.

Nathan Barkley: One win in 15 for us. This one feels different...we actually got 300 in both innings!! How many times under Root's captaincy has this happened?

England went about their task with a breath of fresh air. A lot of credit to Dan Lawrence, playing for the team. Jack Leach bowled well - the ball didn't spin at all, but he was looking dangerous towards the end. HIs confidence seems to have perked up since the Ashes. England will consider it a winning draw - three batsmen getting centuries. It's a positive start.

West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite on BT Sport: "It was a hard fought five days. Hard work and we showed we had some fight at the end.

"It was a great effort from the bowling group and our batters, as well. First innings, we were good with new ball. In the middle we need to find ways to be tighter. If we bring the runs down throughout the innings, that builds pressure and makes those wickets easier to get."

"This pitch was good for batting, but the ball did a bit in the first-class game in Barbados, so it might help the bowlers a bit more."

England interim coach Paul Collingwood, speaking to BT Sport: "Jack Leach barely bowled a bad ball. Even on day five, the pitch offered nothing so it's great signs that he bowled so well despite this.

"I think he's enjoyed his cricket, had a smile on his face and that's great signs for his future.

"That's a benchmark of how we want to play our cricket. Jonny, Zak and the captain have runs in the bank to give us confidence to carry to Barbados.

"The chips were down after the first session but from that point we've played some magnificent cricket."

Leach's three wickets will perk him up after the Ashes, the fact that three batsmen scored centuries is also a boost to a team desperate to move into more positive territory. There was more of a spring in the step of the fielders - and signs of the collective responsibility Root is trying to establish.

England captain Joe Root speaking to BT Sport: "I'm really proud of the team today and throughout the week.

"We found ourselves in a tricky position on day one, and to get ourselves back in the game through that fantastic innings from Jonny was very pleasing. Throughout the game we got better and better.

"And today, chasing those last wickets, I can't fault any of the efforts of anyone.

"I'm expecting another brilliant Test in Barbados. The effort was exceptional this match.

"It's been great to see so many English fans out here enjoying cricket again."

Player of the match Nkrumah Bonner, speaking to BT Sport, said:"We are happy with the draw, but wanted a win.

"When I was younger I always wanted to play Test cricket, so over the years worked on that discipline to bat long.

"I'm very versatile to adapt to the situation, if I'mplaying test cricket my job is to bat for a lot of balls.

"I think we showed real character the way we bowled this morning especially.

"We have a lot of positives to take from this game."

It was always going to be tough for England to win the game without the extra pace of Mark Wood, and they threw everything at it.

But should they have shook hands earlier? Should Ben Stokes have bowled as much in that final session? Plenty to consider.

    I felt for Ben Stokes.

    I question the umpiring.

Out of the four bits of drama in the last hour and a half, two of them were umpiring mistakes.

I found that very strange from England. Maybe it's a mentality they've tried to set for the tour that they are going to be hard-nosed.

They took it too far though for me. West Indies walk off with a lot of credit.

It went on longer than it needed to. Kraigg Brathwaite and the other senior partners may have found it a bit disrespectful that England felt they could still get six wickets in the last 10 overs going all the way down to five balls.

England would not have done that in an Ashes Test or against another top nation. West Indies have to take that mentality and show England that they are a better team than them.

Nkrumah Bonner finishes 38 not out from 138 balls, and Jason Holder 37 from 101.

Jack Leach the pick of England's bowlers with 3-53.

Joe Root will be disappointed he couldn't get the win he so desperately craves, but there are plenty of positives for England to take from that performance. Not only Leach's bowling, but runs for himself and Crawley at the top of the order and scoring 300+ in both innings.

Concern for Mark Wood, of course, and Ben Stokes bowled way more overs than they would have liked.

We'll have all the reaction to follow.

The teams shake hands with five balls remaining.

A hard-fought Test match from both sides, England giving absolutely everything to take those final wickets and West Indies batters digging in until the very end.

Jack Leach completes his 30th over - what an effort.

Jason Holder drives beautifully for four, the ball cruising underneath the feet of a jumping Jonny Bairstow at silly point.

Bonner cashes in with four of his own, guiding it past slip for another boundary.
