Well, the action is something, but he is getting some turn. He did get Bonner out in the first innings, remember.
Yes, he had a hundred to his name. But still.

Those calling for Dan Lawrence earlier - your wish has been granted.

What a shout, Jon. I have absolutely no shame in admitting that Paddington is possibly my favourite film.
Anyway, Jack Leach has now bowled 20 overs. This is proving to be a momentous effort between him and Stokes, in particular.

Ben Stokes is Paddington. Same colour, and both love a hard stare. Not sure if he likes marmalade sandwiches though.

Ben Stokes has now bowled 37 overs in this Test. He's going to be run into the ground if he has to bowl anything nearing that again in the second Test in Barbados which starts on Wednesday.

Here comes Stokes again, starting proceedings after drinks.
The clock is ticking for Joe Root now. He's rotated his bowlers nicely but it was always going to be difficult to take 10 wickets with such inconsistency - Stokes and Leach causing all sorts of problems, Overton and Woakes nothing at all.
And on that note, Nkrumah Bonner crunches a short ball to the mid-wicket boundary.

Ben Stokes as Captain America - always has a positive attitude and regularly saves the day!

Ben Foakes standing up to the stumps to seamers is a sight to behold. Jason Holder pokes at one outside the off stump to Chris Woakes, and somehow the ball nestles into Foakes' gloves without making a sound.
Holder corrects his mistake two balls later though, guiding the ball down to the third boundary for four.
Time for a drink.

Ben Stokes as movie characters. Superman? Terminator?

Arjun SIngh: Injury or not, Stokes is bowling with some wonderful rhythm that was missing in the Ashes. Love to see it.

Chris Woakes continues to struggle to extract anything from this pitch, although there aren't many out there who could, if we're being honest.
Proper digging in from Nkrumah Bonner though, who has five from 51 balls.
There is plenty of love for Dan Lawrence's bowling out there.
I hate to disappoint you all but you'll have to wait a little longer for that. Here's Chris Woakes.

England are doing their best - it would be a remarkable win if they're able to pull this off on a featherbed of a pitch.
The tourists are hoping to prey on more mistakes like the Blackwood one, but there's the experience of Holder and first innings centurion Bonner out there at the moment...
Target 286
Surprising absolutely no one, Ben Stokes is steaming in and giving it absolutely everything. What a joy he is.
He somehow finds some bounce in the pitch to rear up off a length and take Nkrumah Bonner's edge, but the ball falls short of the fielder at point.

Mark: Give Dan Lawrence a bowl
Minimum 30 overs remaining
Big appeal for an lbw on Jason Holder - followed by a conference between about six fielders, bowler and keeper, who chirp 'bat, no bat, bat, no bat' for the 15 allocated seconds before Root opts against using up his last review.
Replays show it was missing the stumps, so that's a wise move.

Adam Savoury: Imagine how many overs Stokes would have bowled in this Test if England weren’t monitoring his workload.
Target 286
The machine that is Ben Stokes is back again. With Woakes and Overton looking ineffective, he will - worryingly - have to bowl a lot of overs again today.
He pins Nkrumah Bonner awkwardly on his side with a well-directed short ball at the end of his over - he's not tired yet.

Craig Overton is in perilously close at second slip to Leach and is perched on his knees.
I'm sure it is tactical but it just looks as if he's having a little rest. It's a tactic I could certainly get on board with, anyway.
