Ben Foakes must've genuinely thought there was a nick.

The other lbw shout not reviewed - it's always difficult with Jason Holder to judge it height-wise.

Foakes has not played much Test cricket and still needs to develop that relationship with Joe Root about using reviews.

A reminder of the equation if we're to get anything other than a draw: West Indies need a further 172 to win, England need six wickets and they have 15 overs left to take them.

    Short, wide, four.

Nkrumah Bonner is not missing out on that.

Overton corrects his line though and troubles Bonner with a couple of well-directed short balls, but they land safely.

Dan Lawrence's spell comes to an end as he is replaced by Craig Overton.

  5. WI 107-4published at 55 overs

Ben Stokes takes over captaincy duties as Joe Root leaves the field.

It's another Jack Leach maiden, although every ball is being greeted like a wicket by his close fielders.

Dan Lawrence continues, five men still huddling around the batter. I just attempted to actually describe his bowling action but it's hard to put into words. 'Lots of limbs' is all I could come up with.

  8. WI 103-4published at 53 overs

A maiden for Jack Leach, who now has 3-41 from his 23 overs.

  9. Not outpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

    Oh dear.

No bat. Joe Root has not had a great day of reviewing.

  10. England reviewpublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2022

    Now then.

Joe Root decides to use up England's last review, thinking they have Jason Holder caught behind.

It's a beauty from Leach, spinning and bouncing past the outside edge, but has Holder nicked it?

  11. WI 103-4published at 52 overs

    Minimum 19 overs remaining

Dan Lawrence gifts Nkrumah Bonner a filthy full toss and the batter gratefully thumps it to the boundary.

  12. WI 99-4published at 51 overs

    Minimum 20 overs remaining

Jack Leach toils away for his 22nd over with no luck, as Holder and Bonner are looking pretty set.

20 overs left. If we were playing a T20, West Indies would be chasing 187 to win. I know that's not how Test matches usually work, but it would be fun to see them attempt it.

Mark: Surely Ben Stokes is John McClain out of Die Hard….injured or not he keeps going. All he needs is a ruined white vest yippee ki yah…

  14. WI 91-4published at 50 overs

    Minimum 21 overs remaining

Close! Nkrumah Bonner leaves one outside off stump from Lawrence and the ball just bounces over the top.

That one genuinely did deserve the 'ooohs' and 'aaahs' that follow from the close fielders.

England currently have four players, including the keeper, wearing helmets around the bat.

    Oh. Can you believe it?

Replays show the ball would've been hitting leg stump. Three reds.

    England have one review remaining.

    What a missed opportunity.

You can't fault Joe Root's efforts here. They may be six wickets away still, but he's thrown everything at this game to try and force a result.

Fielders crowd around Jason Holder's bat in anticipation and break into chorus as he is struck on the pad - but no review.

There's some real resistance here in the form of Holder and Bonner, who seemed to bat forever in the first innings, but at least England have given this a go today. Time is ticking away, though...
