Unless England stage an unlikely victory here, the highlight of my day has already happened.

As we queued up for a Covid test, Aggers bumped into Matt Fisher

    Fisher: "Morning Aggers!"

    Aggers: "Morning! Well bowled yesterday!"

Cue perplexed look from Fisher. Turns out that it wasn't Fisher behind the face mask - it was Alex Lees.

No, I haven't let Aggers forget it

Middled. Jason Holder offers some width. Lees sets himself nicely and drills through the covers for four.

Two more brings up England's 50. It's the first 50 partnership of the Lees-Crawley era.

Seven from the over. A positive start from the tourists.

I did not expect to hear Ralf Rangnick's name pop up today. Blown my mind. He was certainly given a lesson on how to defend yesterday.

It's got me thinking... who is the most unexpected person you've seen at a cricket game? Let us know on Twitter using #bbccricket or text 81111 (standard UK message rates apply).

Ralf Rangnick came along to the cricket yesterday - he sat in the Worrell Weeks & Walcott stand and had long chats with Sir Gordon Greenidge and Sir Wes Hall. I'm told he absolutely loved the day's play (despite it being more one for the purists), and spoke at length with Wes Hall about football in the 70s and 80s.

Permaul was guilty of dragging it a bit too short yesterday. And he's up to the same old tricks first thing this morning as Crawley, on the back foot, clips through the leg side for three.

Alex Lees takes a wild heave at one and is struck on the pads. Aggressive intentions being shown straight away.

The players are out in there. Spinner Veerasammy Permaul has ball in hand. Zak Crawley on strike. How will England go about this?

Graham: The bowlers have been in the field for more than two full days already, and another match starts on Thursday. Just accept we aren't going to take 10 wickets after lunch on this deck, bat the day and hope Lees and Lawrence can get scores.

  9. 'We will have another crack'published at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2022

There was some joy for the England bowling unit, however. Saqib Mahmood took his first Test wicket when he dismissed Jason Holder.

"It was tough graft. The wicket wasn't offering a great deal. The boys stuck at their disciplines," Mahmood, who also dismissed Veerasammy Permaul, said after the game.

"Every now and again you get a ball that stays down or pops but then for 10 overs you don't see it again.

"We will definitely look at having another crack at them tomorrow and try to make something out of this game."

England will need to bat a bit longer than they did in Antigua [when they set West Indies 286 in 71 overs], therefore having fewer overs at the West Indies, but there is more in this pitch for the spinners than there was in the first Test.

England's bowlers will be tired, not least Jack Leach, but it could be an interesting final day.

Spinner Leach took three wickets but was largely inconsistent throughout the West Indies innings. He bowled 69.5 overs, the most in an innings by an England bowler since Phil Tufnell against New Zealand in 1992. If England are to win today, he will need to be on form.

Much like yesterday, we had a brief shower that passed across the ground before play, but this was much more short-lived, and we should start on time.

    Good afternoon!

After four gruelling days of Test cricket, Joe Root's men still have a slim chance of beating West Indies in Barbados.

Yesterday we saw West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite finish an 11-hour innings, scoring 160 from 489 balls, as his side were finally dismissed for 411.

England openers Alex Lees and Zak Crawley reached 40-0 at stumps, with the tourists now leading by 136 runs.

Yes, the pitch has been ridiculously (and frustratingly) batter-friendly. No, there is not much to suggest England can build a good lead and then take 10 West Indies wickets in quick time.

But stranger things have happened. A sensational England victory is not out of the question.

We'll bring you live text commentary, expert analysis and reaction throughout the afternoon and evening. So buckle in and enjoy the ride.
