What a time to be alive.

Judging by the crowd, Ravindra Jadeja may be the second most popular member of this India team after Virat.
His song, like pretty much all sport songs these days, is to the tune of Seven Nation Army and is ringing around the ground.
Apparently Abba and Dire Straits have the best-selling albums in history in New Zealand. Reasonable taste.
Shania Twain is third. Not so much.

Mark Puttick: Kohli's been out lbw in his last three Test innings v New Zealand & now has been dismissed the most times lbw v NZ in men's Tests:
Tim Southee hasn't bowled today, either. Jadeja is away with a streaky edge through the slips off Wagner. Two cricketers who will not take a backward step.

The new ball is just six overs away, which is perfect timing for New Zealand.
Ravi Jadeja is the new man. New Zealand will sniff the opportunity to run through this India batting line-up.

Rishabh Pant went hard at that outside the off stump, it was angling across him as a left hander and it was a good catch at head height from Tom Latham.

Edged and gone!
Rishabh Pant can't keep his patience and Kyle Jamieson has his third wicket.
A big, booming drive and Tom Latham takes a sharp catch in front of his face at second slip.
India have lost 10-2 this morning.
Pant is away from the 20th ball he's faced, fetching Jamieson from outside off stump to the mid-wicket boundary. Jamieson needs some sawdust, so Trent Boult obliges, carrying a pile in two hands like he's cleaning out a hamster cage.

We've had 40 minutes' play this morning, and only four runs for the loss of one wicket.
The bustling Neil Wagner is into the attack, looking to tempt Rishabh Pant outside the off stump with three grabbers in the slips. Patience from Pant, who doesn't need to play. He's faced 19 balls and is yet to get off the mark.

I think the thing about that dismissal of Kohli is that it was a lot fuller from Kyle Jamieson. There wasn't much Kohli could do about it, actually.
Jamieson 2-15 (18)
Jamieson has been superb this morning. His stock is to swing the ball away from the right-hander, but he's got the inswinger that did for Kohli. Massively tall, when he releases the ball it must feel like it's coming down from the top floor of the hotel.

Tough day for Michael Gough today. He's in the middle for the "ultimate Test" and his football team, Hartlepool United, are in the National League play-off final at 2pm.
The question is, does Marti Pellow have any sort of profile in India? I can imagine Wet Wet Wet have had success in New Zealand. It seems like that sort of country.

I can understand Michael Gough's decision there, it was absolutely hooping.
Ind 149-4
Umpire's call for the leg pole. Pant survives.
Ind 149-4
Is this another? This time it's New Zealand asking the question. Jamieson to Pant. Going down the leg side?
