But how important might this late wicket turn out to be?
Bye for now.

For me, Kyle Jamieson is just getting better every time he plays and I think his bag of tricks will start to be spread out over longer spells the more he plays. He's not the quickest but it's the height that creates such an awkward bounce.

As a reminder, we start again at 10:30 BST tomorrow. Fingers crossed the weather plays ball.

I still think the game is poised. I know New Zealand haven't lost loads of wickets today, but Taylor and Nicholls are still a bit uncertain and the same thing could happen to New Zealand as what happened to India this morning.
We talk so much about Kohli but Pant for me was a dangerman, because in a low-scoring game a quickfire 70 or something like that could have turned the game on its head.

New Zealand pace bowler Kyle Jamieson on Sky Sports: "To start the way we did and keep them to what we did was pretty pleasing.
"Yesterday I felt good, but was tentative. Today I felt free and able to bring my length fuller."

The day started where either side could take control of the game, and Jamieson did that with those two big wickets of Kohli and Pant.
Rahane's wicket then was like a car accident just waiting to happen, and getting those three wickets of players who could really hurt you, that made it New Zealand's session for sure.

Close of play
NZ 101-2
What must Devon Conway be thinking, to get out to what turned out to be two balls before the close?
The covers are coming on, day three is done. The day four forecast is not clever, you know.
Bad light stops play
NZ 101-2
And there it is. The players are going off.
They won't be back, either.

They're not going to be staying on much longer here. Ross Taylor may only have a matter of minutes to survive.
NZ 101-2
Taylor survives his first two balls. More by luck than judgement. We're getting a meter reading...

The bowlers are always in the game here. You sense that India could easily get on a roll and take three or four wickets pretty quickly.

Ross Taylor takes a long look up at the grey clouds, and he's not hiding that he doesn't particularly want to be out there!
NZ 101-2
What a time to be arriving. Good luck, Ross Taylor.
