A pair of singles from Dean's over, good again from the off-spinner.

Approaching the 20-over mark and England could not have wished for a better start.

That's a magnificent catch from Amy Jones.

She will have been unsighted when Rana went for the drive. Jones held her position and held the catch.

Everything England have touched so far has turned to gold.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 02:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2022

    Rana c Jones b Dean 0 (Ind 61-5)

Two in the over! A very similar ball from Dean and she's got rid of Sneh Rana too.

Slightly wider this time, same flight and drift though and Rana goes after it with a booming drive. It's a thicker edge this time and a superb catch behind from Jones.

Not much turn for Dean but it's certainly not holding her back.

That's a huge wicket for England. They might just feel they have broken the back of this powerful India batting line-up.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 02:15 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2022

    Kaur c Jones b Dean 14 (Ind 61-4)

Huge wicket! Charlie Dean strikes second ball!

It's a flighted delivery, just a hint of drift and Harmanpreet Kaur feathers it behind as she pushes forward. Good take from Amy Jones behind the stumps.

  10. Ind 61-3published at 16 overs

Ecclestone is through another tidy over, three singles from it. Two of them come as she drops a tad short and is pulled square.

There is more good fielding from Beaumont, this time diving to her right at point to stop Mandhana's cut shot.

  11. Ind 58-3published at 15 overs

There's not too much pace in the pitch and Sciver is using that and really making the India batters have to wait for the ball with a couple of cutters that hold in the pitch.

This is the most relaxed I have seen England side throughout this competition, and rightly so because for the first time they are on top in a game.

England's fielding in this World Cup could generously be described as below average. That has all changed today. They've been electric in the field as shown by Kate Cross' direct hit to run out Deepti Sharma...

  14. drinks break

    Ind 55-3published at 14 overs

    Mandhana 26, Kaur 12

Sophie Ecclestone comes on now. The left-arm spinner was the pick of the England bowlers against South Africa and starts well here, too. A single from the over and it is time for drinks.

If they can break this partnership England are capable of bowling India for less than 200.

But these two batters are key for India, we know how dangerous they can be.

  16. Ind 54-3published at 13 overs

After keeping things tight for the last few overs, England let India off the hook a little late in the over.

Following the boundary, Sciver twice strays legside with Kaur glancing the first of them fine and the next gong for wides. On each occasion, Tammy Beaumont comes round from fine leg to prevent the boundary.

  17. Ind 49-3published at 12.4 overs

Harmanpreet Kaur shows with class with a drive threaded through the covers for four. Sciver offered up too much width and the India batter needed no second invitation.

  18. Postpublished at 01:58 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2022

Will that be it for Shrubsole in this spell? She claimed her second wicket when India skipper Mithali Raj drove uppishly into the covers and Sophia Dunkley took a good low catch.

  19. Ind 44-3published at 12 overs

Five from the over. Kaur gets four with a thick outside edge as Shrubsole gets her length just right once more. It was well played by the India right-hander, though, soft hands and opening the face just a touch.

Anya Shrubsole is continuing into her sixth over - and why not? She has been superb thus far and got things started for England with her 100th ODI wicket, Yastika Bhatia bowled via an inside edge...
