Southern Brave all-rounder Chris Jordan on Sky Sports: "It was great to get our first win on the board. You have to back yourself in those situations, trying to get the job done for the team. I'm glad I was able to get us over the line.

"We thought with the way we bowled they had a bit of luck and we let them have 10-15 too many runs. But we would've taken it at the beginning of the innings, so we were calm and we knew that a big four or five balls and we could get back in it.

"The cut-off time is a good addition to the game because it makes you change your plans - we didn't make it because we were talking about how to get wickets.

"James Vince is a class player in all formats. He keep going from strength to strength and leads this side really well."

Liam Livingstone had a good run in the back end of Birmingham's innings but it was an otherwise solid performance from the Southern Brave.

They were even able to wobble at the finish and still get home with three balls to spare.

Match hero James Vince on Sky Sports:"We are relieved to win. Credit to the guys at the end who held their nerve.

"It gives me a bit of confidence and the ball came on really nicely on this hybrid pitch, which suits my game.

"We knew we only had a few bits to tweak after the last game and we managed to do that tonight.

"You want Chris Jordan in that situation with the bat and ball at the back end of an innings, he's got so much experience."

Good signs that the captain James Vince has found some touch. From a bowling perspective they look very strong. The pace. They really hit the gloves hard tonight. They had a slow start in the tournament but they are a team that can contend.

  9. 'A great all-round performance'published at 21:31 British Summer Time 30 July 2021

It was the right result in the end. Braves up front with the ball were good. It was only after the drinks break that the Phoenix got away. With the bat the Braves came out with intent. Vince played a superb knock to set up the win. Conway played the supporting role and Chris Jordan finished it off. A great all-round performance. Very professional win.

It is just poor bowling. You are hampered by having one less fielder out there and you drop it short to someone who can bat.

Top running from Chris Jordan. He really pushed Liam Dawson so he could get back on strike.

Two more to Jordan but it could easily have been four. A brilliant diving stop on the boundary edge.
