Need 39 more runs to win

Six more! Devon Conway this time sends Moeen Ali towards the hotel. The hosts are big favourites now. Those five balls from Moeen cost 18 runs. Ouch.

  2. 6 runs

Brave 106-2published at 27 balls left

Six to Alex Davies! This is the over for Southern Brave and it's England's Moeen Ali they're going after.

It would be wrong of me to pick any team but the Southern Braves. Short-form run-chases now would be happy with this situation.

  4. Brave 99-2published at 29 balls left

Conway swings and makes good contact. Four runs - his first boundary. The Brave needed that.

We have a brilliant game on. It also seems like it is drifting from the Brave. With a couple of wickets the Phoenix have just dragged it back their way.

  6. Brave 95-2published at 30 balls left

57 runs needed from 30 balls

This game is well and truly on. The win predictor is now at 52% in Birmingham's favour.

    Moeen will bowl next...

  7. Brave 94-2published at 32 balls left

    Absolutely Stephen.

Benny Howell squeezes the game once more with two dots at the start of his latest set. Davies gets a run off the next ball bit it is only one.

  9. Brave 93-2published at 35 balls left

Need 59 more runs to win

Imran Tahir roars like a man who has just seen the X3 pull away as he arrived at the bus stop as new batter Alex Davies edges wide of the keeper.

Conway has been in for 19 balls and still hasn't hit a boundary.

    It's close.

  10. Brave 87-2published at 38 balls left

    Target 152

The game looks back in the balance with Vince out. Conway needs to find the boundary.

It is a massive wicket. It is a lot to do with the way Conway has batted as he hasn't been able to time it as he would want. All the big hitting was down to Vince. In doing so he has got that top edge.

It's game on again as Vince top-edges a sweep into the hands of Imran Tahir.

Is a James Vince hundred out of the question here? He's dominating the scoring.

Well we're halfway through and Brave aren't halfway to their total. Maybe this isn't as clear-cut as I have been suggesting.

James Vince has been at his beautiful best, scoring all around the wicket. There's a timeout at the moment, by the way.

Back to Benny Howell and his 50 variations. He says he has developed them by watching baseball pitchers.

Not the same, I know, but I watched the softball at the Olympics the other day. Great fun. Vince would probably cover drive them as well.

  20. Brave 63-1published at 55 balls left

    Target 152

This is Southern Brave's first home game in The Hundred. James Vince, who plays all of his cricket here for Hampshire, is standing tall.
