This is a good innings from Markram. He's put a bit of impetus into this innings. They're giving themselves a bit of a platform now.

  2. SA 77-4published at 13 overs

    Markram 28, Miller 14

Good over for Australia really, with just six runs coming off it.

What would be a good score for South Africa here? You'd think they want at least 140 to defend - they do have some serious pace talent in Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje and the number one-ranked bowler in T20 cricket in left-arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi. They'd have a sniff with a semi-decent score on the board.

  3. Not outpublished at 12.1 overs

    Comfortably home.

It is brilliant from Australia's keeper Matthew Wade to throw off his glove, gather the ball and hit the stumps with a Superman style drive and throw.

  4. Umpire reviewpublished at 12.1 overs

Has David Miller been run out at the non-striker's end?

We're going upstairs, but he doesn't look too worried, and the Aussies are relaxed too.

A welcome boundary for South Africa. Maxwell just dropped that a little short.

  6. SA 71-4published at 12 overs

Hit em! Oh! Almost brilliant from Glenn Maxwell.

David Miller looks to drop and run into the on-side, and Maxwell scurries after it and looks to hit run out the left hander at the non-striker's end but the throw is just wide.

Four! Much needed boundary this. Maxwell drops a bit short and Aiden Markram latches onto it, and crashes it to the point boundary.

    Single. Single. Dot.

    Australia are controlling this.

    Double spin for the Aussies.

Glenn Maxwell, who got the opening wicket of Temba Bavuma, is back to bowl his final over.

Australia love dominating and bullying oppositions. They're getting that opportunity now.

  10. SA 63-4published at 11 oers

    Markram 20, Miller 8

There are cries of "catchhh" from Matthew Wade as David Miller drives back down the ground, but the left-hander clearly hit it into the ground.

It is hard work out there. Whoever the batter is at the non-striker's end is leaning on their bat handle and taking deeeeep breaths, sucking in all the oxygen they can get.

Good second over from Adam Zampa, just four off it.

Back to the leg-spin of Adam Zampa after the drinks break.

He went for nine in his first over. Probably partly punishment for this terrible barnet he is sporting.

    Thanks Matt. Definitely no towel...

Australia don't look like a side that have lost 15 of their last 21 Twenty20 matches, and their five previous series, do they?

What a top-class bowling line-up can do for you...

  13. SA 59-4published at 10 overs

    Markram 19, Miller 5

A high-brow text from Steve there.

The players are taking a drink and passing around the ice towels. Here's Callum Matthews, very much not wearing a towel... I hope.

Markram has to be the best palindrome in cricket. Please tell me his parents are Hannah and Bob.

South Africa coach Mark Boucher is making some notes sat at a desk.

"Lose fewer wickets. Score more runs."

This is a big partnership for South Africa. They have Dwaine Pretorius to come and then you're into the bowlers.

  17. SA 54-4published at 9 overs

    Markram 18, Miller 1

Josh Hazlewood has two of the four wickets so far.

    One of them was excellent...

The other was a total freak...

  18. SA 52-4published at 8.3 overs

Cummins has been given an ice towel on the boundary edge after his over. It looks very, very hot out there.

Mitchell Starc is back but once again he is hit to the boundary. For someone as good as Starc this has not been great today.

It's a slight change of pace and Smith took a regulation catch. Klaasen was starting to look a bit dangerous.

It gets worse for South Africa...

Just as Heinrich Klaasen was starting to look good if falls to a lazy prod. The ball is edged to backward point, where that man Steve Smith lunges forward to scoop up the catch.
