  1. dropped catch

Bavuma dropped on 7published at 9 overs

Oh is that a drop? It is!

We've just seen a replay from a ball in the previous over. There's a spike as Bavuma swings at a cut.

At first it just looked like a meaningless fumble behind the stumps but now it is much more significant. It's Kusal Perera again. He dropped a shocker against Australia too...

Sho: Bavuma looking all over the place. Struggling yet again.

  3. SA 51-3published at 8.4 overs

Aiden Markram is in. He's in decent nick.

The win predictor is at 50-50. Tight.

A brilliant direct hit. Van der Dussen was miles out.

Sometimes in T20 cricket a little piece of magic changes the game. Sri Lanka will have so much confidence now.

  5. wicket

Van der Dussen run out Shanaka 16 (SA 49-3)

Brilliant! Sri Lanka's fielding has been a shambles but skipper Dasun Shanaka produces a moment of magic to remove Rassie van der Dussen.

Van der Dussen has been sold down the river by Bavuma, who started to go for a single, and with him six yards down the pitch Shanaka hits with his throw with only one stump to aim at.

  6. SA 49-2published at 7.5 overs

Bavuma was hit on the thigh pad and the ball wasn't even close to going over the stumps. That tells you the South Africa skipper is a very small man...

That would have really hurt as well. Just missed the thigh pad on the inside thigh. A real stinger.

  8. Not outpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 30 October 2021

    It's umpire's call on impact.

The original decision stands. Temba Bavuma can breathe a little easier.

  9. Postpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 30 October 2021

Bavuma is trying to scoop off his stumps. The ball loops behind for a simple catch.

But I don't think he has hit it. What about the lbw?

The bowler is convinced it is pad first.

  11. Sri Lanka reviewpublished at 7.3 overs

    Sri Lanka are absolutely convinced!

Have they gone up for the catch or the lbw? Bavuma could be in trouble...

  12. SA 44-2published at 7 overs

Need 99 runs from 78 balls

This is a big game. The winners will keep themselves in touch at the top of the group but the losers will be really struggling.

Hasaranga's first over is a good one. Four singles from it.

It was Dushmantha Chameera who started the mayhem with two wickets in three balls...

He missed it by a street and a half.

This is where Sri Lanka can lose it if they use too much passion and emotion. So they just need to calm down, reduce the heart rate and move forward.

  15. SA 40-2published at 6 overs

    Target 143

Bavuma now is hurriedly sticking out limbs trying to stop a defensive stroke bouncing back onto his stumps. It's all so hectic.

And it continues! Avishka Fernando takes aim at the stumps but his effort is wild, the fielder fails to back it up and it goes all the way for four overthrows.

    Everyone needs to calm down.

  16. SA 34-2published at 5.3 overs

This is crazy stuff. The batters are running when they shouldn't. The fielders are misfielding.

Hands are on top of heads everywhere.

  17. SA 32-2published at 5 overs

    Target 143

The ball is flying everywhere now. It's all-action cricket. We'll have a handled the ball dismissal next if this is anything to go by.

To put the situation simply, South Africa need 111 to win from 90 balls.

That should have been given not out on the field and get on with the game. Ridiculous.

Van der Dussen has played a forward defence to a throw at the stumps.

You're not really allowed to do that but given he's comfortably back in his crease it is correctly given not out.
