Dave: With the depth of England's batting they can look to be around 100 after 15 overs and then 150 + is still achievable. No panic yet....

  2. Eng 61-3published at 12 overs

A quiet over with just two runs coming from it.

Off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana is done with the ball. His figures an extremely economical 0-13.

Sri Lanka have two overs of Wanindu Hasaranga left, but that means England will face six overs of pace from the final eight. They will be targeting those.

Ralph Blackburn: Eoin Morgan currently scoring at a strike-rate of 40 - which is the same as Dom Sibley’s first-class strike-rate.

That's a much better over for England. They rotated the strike, pushing twos, and it pushes the run rate up. That's where this England team are so good and so adaptable.

  5. Eng 59-3published at 11 overs

Good over for England, with 12 runs coming from it.

That first-ball boundary helped and then some good placement and running means it is a big over for England.

A handful more of those and England will be up to a more than competitive total.

Quite often after drinks breaks we see a wicket, but Jos Buttler has other ideas.

  7. Eng 51-3published at 10.1 overs

Oh, my. Beautiful from Jos Buttler.

He stands tall and punches a drive between extra cover and mid-off for his third boundary.

There's a fine line now - the run rate isn't great so when do you decide to take that risk? One of these players will have to accelerate and soon.

  10. drinks break

    Drinks breakpublished at 10 overs

    Eng 47-3

Just three more singles from the 10th over and it is time for a drink.

Jos Buttler and Eoin Morgan are very much England's think tank. They'll be having regular conversations about what score they need and what they would back their bowlers to defend on this pitch.

120? 130? 140? Let's see. There is a lot of power in the shed.

Just a little reminder that England are three from three, guys.

India, who have been forced to make changes to their batting line-up throughout, are winless from their two games.

    Calm down.

Thomas Knights: Morgan is a great captain and leader of this England side, sadly his batting has fallen off a cliff and at 5 he seems like a complete passenger at the moment.

  13. Eng 44-3published at 9 overs

Good, tight and probing over from Chamika Karunaratne with just three singles added.

It looks so tough to score. The ball isn't coming onto the bat at all.

For a ball to be going over the stumps in Sharjah is quite something.

    Alex Hartley, take a bow.

Umpire's call on impact and it is going over the top of the stumps too.

I think I've just seen umpire Rod Tucker signal that it hit outside the line.

  19. Sri Lanka reviewpublished at 8.4 overs

Sri Lanka know Jos Buttler is the key wicket so they send an lbw appeal upstairs for a look.
