It definitely looks even-stevens at the moment. After the powerplay things will get really tough with the extra fielders out. This is a huge over for Sri Lanka.

  2. SL 34-2published at 5 overs

    Target 164

Nice recovery from Chris Jordan, with the rest of his over costing just two singles and a dot.

England had the exact same score at this stage in their innings.

  3. SL 32-2published at 4.3 overs

Oh, hello! That's a nice way to get off the mark as Avishka Fernando dismissively slaps Chris Jordan through the off side for four.

Avishka Fernando has joined Kusal Perera out in the middle and watches his partner's outside edge get rattled by another Adil Rashid googly.

It came off the toe end of the bat and it went straight up in the air.

It is really well bowled from Adil Rashid.

That is brilliant from Adil Rashid. Two dot balls and then the wicket. Asalanka just felt the pressure.

    Adil Rashid strikes!

Excellent from the England leggie, tying Asalanka down and then watching as the Sri Lanka batsman comes charging towards him and ends up thrashing the ball into the air. Moeen Ali takes a couple of steps forward and settles himself for a comfy catch.

  10. SL 24-1published at 3.1 overs

The googly first up from Rashid, and Asalanka reads it about as well as I would.

Having seen Chris Woakes get a bit of treatment, Eoin Morgan has called on Adil Rashid.

Charith Asalanka is making it look very easy at the moment. The pressure is on England.

  13. SL 24-1published at 3 overs

    Target 164

Asalanka goes for the sweep again and misses, Moeen turning and holding his head in his hands.

That's another good over for Sri Lanka, with 10 runs coming from it.

Again he took the risk but he plays the shot so well. The ball was just angling towards leg stump.

  15. SL 23-1published at 2.4 overs

Moeen returns, and his second delivery is thumped to the square leg boundary by a powerfully sweeping Asalanka.

Oh, and again! He's hit it even better this time, maybe a little more aerially, and the ball goes cracking into the boundary rope.

You hate those as a bowler. They go against your bowling figures and you could have had a wicket.

  19. SL 12-1published at 1.4 overs

And of course, the next ball goes for four off the inside edge of Asalanka's swinging bat!

    Ouch.

That was not a bad ball at all from Chris Woakes but Asalanka just gave himself room.
