The rate has climbed to exactly 10 runs per over needed. Namibia can't leave Wiese with too much to do.

  2. Nam 54-2published at 9 overs

Just the three runs off that over and the run-rate is now up to 10. There's little margin for error for Namibia as that can climb pretty quickly.

There you go. A classic left-arm spinners' wicket.

  4. wicket

    Baird b Santner 21 (Nam 51-2)

    Or perhaps not.

Mitchell Santner strikes with the first ball of the eighth over.

Baird looks to nudge the ball into the onside but completely mis-times it and the ball clatters into middle stump. A drop in pace looked to have done for Baird, there.

  5. Nam 51-1published at 8 overs

Gerhard Erasmus is the next batter as four singles complete the over.

    Namibia are 51-1.

New Zealand were 55-2 at the same stage.

    Game on?

It's just tough to play that shot at Sharjah.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.2 overs

    Van Lingen b Neesham 25 (Nam 47-1)

Kane Williamson opts against spin at the other end, it's Jimmy Neesham instead - and he immediately strikes!

Van Lingen attempting a rather ugly pull across the line but the ball goes through and clatters into middle and leg.

  8. Nam 45-0published at 7 overs

Mitchell Santner is the first of those spinners and there's some more good fielding from Jimmy Neesham as he claws back a sweep from Stephan Baard to prevent the boundary,

No such luck two deliveries later as an inside edge form Van Linden escapes fine for a streaky four.

Nine off the over - better from Namibia.

A single completes the powerplay for Namibia - they reach 36-0.

Nine an over needed. Definitely possible, especially with wickets in hand. It will rest on how they handle the New Zealand spinners in the middle overs.

Namibia will face a lot of spin coming up so they need this momentum.

    Nam 35-0published at 5.5 overs

    Here we go!

A huge swing of the arms by Van Lingen as he smacks Adam Milne back over his head for six.

    A timely maximum for Namibia.

He just stood tall and narrowly missed Baard's head at the other end.

  13. Nam 29-0published at 5.3 overs

Lovely shot from Michael van Lingen. It's a back-foot drive in the air just over Stephen Baard's head at the other end and away for four.

  14. Nam 24-0published at 5 overs

A better over from Namibia, seven from it, though a big over is needed next up to make the most of the powerplay. Otherwise that run-rate will start shooting up.

Love that intent from Baard, walking down the track to pick the length up nicely. They need more of that before the powerplay ends.

  16. Nam 23-0published at 4.4 overs

Good response from Stephan Baard. He middles it again but the direction is better this time, over the circle and through mid-wicket for four.

This is great, tight fielding from New Zealand, supporting their bowlers.

  18. Nam 18-0published at 4.1 overs

Stephan Baard does finally middle it and it looks all the way but for a fine diving, one-handed stop by Kane Williamson at mid-off. He gets a clap from Trent Boult and rightly so. Brilliant stuff.

Pressure is starting to build on these Namibia overs.

  20. Nam 17-0published at 4 overs

It is all a bit scratchy from Namibia as they struggle to time the ball on this wicket and find the middle of the bat.

They can only scramble a couple of singles from Tim Southee's second over.
