These next 18 balls are crucial. Namibia can play a bit freer now without losing wickets in the first three overs.

  2. Nam 15-0published at 3 overs

Michael van Lingen looks to be struggling a bit here. He was struck on the hip by a Trent Boult delivery the previous over and he keeps dropping down to his haunches between deliveries. It looks like he is OK to carry on.

A watchful first three overs of the powerplay from Namibia. Will they step things up in the next three?

  3. Nam 11-0published at 2 overs

Boult goes for five in his first over as Namibia struggle to find the middle of the bat. It's a slow pitch and a couple of bouncers from Boult don't really take off. I can't see any deliveries spitting up unexpectedly any time soon.

The win predictor has New Zealand at 80%. A good powerplay could bring that number down, though.

Southee's partner in crime Trent Boult will open at the other end...

That would've been a regulation first slip catch...but there was no slip in.

  6. Nam 6-0published at 1 overs

Stephan Baard and Michael van Lingen will open up for Namibia. Tim Southee has the ball for New Zealand.

If that was a Test match Baard would be on his way - the Namibia opener edges through to where first slip would normally stand and it disappears fine for four.

Namibia will be happy overall. They'd obviously like to be chasing less than 164 after the start they got. But it was a good bowling performance against a very good team.

Namibia spinner Bernard Scholtz: "You never know, we just have to get off to a good start. Hopefully if we start well we can catch up at the end."

Those 'wides' have made a real difference. It was a 10-run swing.

  11. NZ 163-4published at 20 overs

JJ Smith is wide again but Neesham gets a toe-end on the ball and it drops safe near the point boundary, allowing New Zealand to run two.

An epic final over comes to an end. New Zealand end on 163-4.

Another wide. We are going to be here all day.

Wow, Phillips went for the complete switcheroo there!

  15. NZ 160-4published at 19.5 overs

Well that was strange. Smit bangs it in short and Phillips goes for a wild left-handed swing that he completely misses.

It's called a wide and New Zealand scramble a single.

  16. NZ 158-4published at 19.5 overs

Glenn Phillips works the penultimate ball into the onside for two runs.

    Last ball coming up...

  17. NZ 156-4published at 19.5 overs

That's a good reply from JJ Smith as he goes for the yorker that Neesham just about gets bat on and New Zealand run a single.

These 'wides' are cruel stuff on Namibia.

  19. NZ 155-4published at 19.3 overs

JJ Smith is penalised for two successive wides, though replays suggest they were inside the blue line.

    Harsh.

  20. NZ 153-4published at 19.3 overs

A fumble by Erasmus in the on-side allows New Zealand to run through for two.
