Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer: "I thought we bowled really well especially in the powerplay. When they have the power Pakistan do they will find the boundary at some stage. I thought our guys fought really hard.

"It is a huge occasion but for associate nations it is so important. I hope we have inspired a few people in Scotland, and this proves if we play well and work hard we deserve a place in a tournament like this. A tough day but to see these guys on show was excellent.

"We have some fantastic players, we will take huge learnings from this and we can focus on the challenges of playing in Australia (next year). We can be very proud of what we have achieved."

Scotland head home after this defeat.

The Super 12s has been tough for them but this should still be remembered as a breakthrough tournament.

They're guaranteed a place at the next World Cup next year as a result for their efforts too.

We can't leave without a word for Richie Berrington. I hope he can keep this clip locked away for a long time...

  8. 'We take confidence going deep in the tournament'published at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik: "If we don't lose early wickets we have a chance of a good total. I had that in my mind, we discussed getting 150 and not losing wickets early on. On these tracks you take at least six to eight balls to assess conditions and play your game.

"We take confidence going deep in the tournament, I am in good form and I want to be consistent to help the team. It will be a big game and we just have to give it our best shot."

I am very proud of them, they have come a long way in a short space of time. They have condensed so much into about 60 days of cricket. This will highlight to the ICC where Cricket Scotland is at. This was a credible performance to end the tour nicely.

No doubt about this one. Chris Greaves had one life but now the stumps light up as he chops on.

Haris Rauf begins the last over with a wide.

I hope Shaheen doesn't have a wicket bonus in his contract. He's not happy after that.

  19. Not out - Sco 110-5published at 18.4 overs

    A wicket off a no-ball!

Chris Greaves hits to mid-off but the replays show Shaheen has overstepped. He'll be happy that won't cost his side at least.

What I like is that Pakistan have not taken their foot off the gas. That's a measure of respect the players have for each other. Full credit to Pakistan and India, they have given Scotland a lot of respect.
