Cross run out Imad 5 (Sco 36-2)

Urgh. What a horrible way for your World Cup to end. Scotland's Matthew Cross is run out at the non-striker's end as Imad gets a fingertip on a Munsey drive which goes onto the stumps.

In fairness to Imad I think he knew what he was doing. Cross was well out of his ground and didn't hang around for a replay.

  2. Sco 36-1published at 7.5 overs

Mohammad Rizwan leaps down the leg side to prevent too much damage coming from a wide Imad delivery. Rizwan gets a hug from Shaheen for his efforts, both of them grinning. Given Shaheen is about a foot taller than Rizwan he resembles a proud father.

Scotland have not had a lot this innings, they cannot get going. They are canny bowlers. aren't they?

Babar Azam gave another clinic earlier...

  5. Sco 30-1published at 7 overs

    Munsey 13, Cross 3

Shadab Khan is on, spinning the ball one way and t' other.

His hands are on his head like a man whose dropped a bag of flour in his kitchen - I'm speaking from experience here - after one misses leg stump by something thinner than a whisker.

Pakistan's stranglehold on this game continues.

  6. Sco 24-1published at 6 overs

    Target 190

Scotland's chances according to win predictor are sinking faster than Man Utd's title hopes. This is very tough for them. Hassan isn't offering anything to hit.

He was done for the lack of pace, that was good bowling from Hasan. He bustles to the crease, almost Andy Bichel-style but it's slower than expected. He has that style and stature of his bowling.

That was like a fast off break, clever bowling.

  9. wicket

    Coetzer b Hassan 9 (Sco 23-1)

Bowled 'im. Kyle Coetzer's struggle is over as Hassan Ali knocks back his off stump with a slower ball. The Scot tried to heave it over the off side but was completely done by the variation.

The Pakistan fans cheer as the bails light up.

Scotland have lost early wickets in other matches but Coetzer is struggling to time it as well as Munsey is.

It's time for another gloriously groomed Pakistan bowler. Hassan Ali and his flowing locks are on.

  12. Sco 23-0published at 5 overs

    Required run-rate: 11.13

Serious wheels from Haris Rauf who almost takes Munsey's head off with a 91mph bouncer. It's all very friendly out there. Rauf gives Munsey a fist bump at the end of the over.

It's a nice time to bowl in Sharjah, if you can grip it!

  14. Sco 23-0published at 4.4 overs

George Munsey was smiling in the previous over, I think wryly given the fact he's playing well but fielding the fielders.

Now he creams a drive back past Haris Rauf but stumps at the non-striker's end deny him a four.

Scotland are chasing so many because of Shoaib Malik's explosive finish. Here are a few of the highlights...

  16. Sco 20-0published at 4 overs

Imad Wasim begins the over by almost cruelly toying with Kyle Coetzer. The Scot is trying to heave the ball away but Imad cleverly follows him, tying him up in knots.

Just a single from this over for Scotland.

  17. Sco 19-0published at 3 overs

    Target 190

I've mentioned this before in this tournament but for anyone unaware, George Munsey holds the record for the fastest T20 international by an England-born player. In this over the left-hander goes after Shaheen again, cracking him through the off side.

  18. Sco 14-0published at 2.1 overs

Immaculate hair or not, Shaheen's radar lets him down with the first ball of this over a wide. The second delivery is a no-ball too but Munsey can only manage one from the subsequent free hit.

I think this is Pakistan's year because they have the right batting approach in all conditions. Like today they can start cautiously but really catch up towards the end.

  20. Sco 11-0published at 2 overs

    Munsey 5, Coetzer 5

A reminder Pakistan need to win this game to top the group. If they do so they'll meet Australia in the semi-finals while England would face New Zealand in the other.
