  1. Sco 110-5published at 18.4 overs

Berrington has ensured Scotland take some pride from this defeat. At 41-4 it could have got really ugly but he has stood up.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Berringtonpublished at 18 overs

Richie Berrington has a 34-ball fifty against Pakistan at the World Cup.

He's had a disappointing tournament but this is a night he'll remember.

He looks up to the sky after raising his bat.

Terrific shot, gave himself room and hit right through the line. You can do that in Sharjah.

  4. 6 runs

    Sco 104-5published at 17.4 overs

That's huge! Richie Berrington is having a great time in this heavy Scotland defeat.

Hassan Ali is pumped a mile back over his head and Berrington is now on the verge of a fifty. His side have passed 100 too.

    On we go. Not out.

The ball has hit Greaves' inside edge but I think this has bounced before wicketkeeper Rizwan.

  7. Umpire reviewpublished at 17.1 overs

We've got another review. This time it's for caught behind but I don't think the umpires gave it out in the first instance.

There are two cats on my TV screen. They must have fancied a night at the cricket.

  9. Not outpublished at 17:07 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

Yep. In a tournament of bad reviews, this is up there. The ball from Rauf pitched outside right-hander Berrington's leg stump and would have missed by a distance too.

This doesn't look to have a lot going for it...

  11. Pakistan reviewpublished at 17:06 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2021

Ooooh. We're going up for an lbw review against Richie Berrington.

  12. Sco 95-5published at 16.4 overs

Martin's suggestion sounds like a very sensible one. Am I missing something? Let's hope someone at the ICC is reading this.

Groups need a fixture seeding system so that Seed 1 & 3 play the final game, Seed 2 & 4 the penultimate and Seed 5 & 6 the first of the final round. This final round was settled after this mornings mismatch, leaving two dead rubbers.

  14. Sco 93-5published at 16.2 overs

Lovely! Richie Berrington sweeps the speedy Haris Rauf off his stumps down to fine leg.

  15. Sco 87-5published at 16 overs

    Target 190

Richie Berrington needs 18 runs to get to a fifty. That's all that's riding on this game now in truth.

Full, straight, quick - you miss, I am going to hit. He was done for pace and accuracy, but that was a good innings from Leask. He is one for the future, he should be pleased with his tournament's work.

    Stumps splattered.

Michael Leask tries to copy Richie Berrington's boundary-hitting but it does not go well. Leask has had a decent tournament. Hopefully we'll see more of him in the future at this level.

  18. Scot 87-4published at 15.3 overs

Berrington is at least giving himself something to tell the grandkids here. He's into the thirties now after a flying edge off Shaheen evades keeper and the fielder in the deep.

Berrington doesn't have to tell anyone how he hit one of the world's great fast bowlers for four. A four is a four.

  19. Sco 81-4published at 15 overs

Five overs to go. Scotland need another 109 runs.

Shadab Khan could cause Australia's batters a lot of problems in the semi-final if he's bowling like this...
