Steve Smith barely had to move. Two wickets in the over - how crucial will this be?

    Williamson c Smith b Hazlewood 85 (NZ 148-4)

A simply brilliant innings comes to an end.

Kane Williamson looks to go down the ground but can't clear Steve Smith on the long-off boundary, who takes a simple catch.

    Williamson finishes with 85 - the joint-highest score in a men's T20 World Cup final - from 48 balls.

He was dropped on 21 off 22 balls so added 64 from his final 26 balls. Sensational.

That is beautifully played by the captain. He can access all areas. Williamson is playing a blinder.

  7. NZ 148-3published at 17.3 overs

    Shot!

Kane Williamson pre-meditates and ramps Josh Hazlewood over short fine leg for another boundary.

    He's up to 85.

With boundaries as big as these, you need to time it expertly each and every time.

    Phillips c Maxwell b Hazlewood 18 (NZ 144-3)

Another easy catch. Good bowling too.

Josh Hazlewood is just sticking to his Test match line and length and using his height to his advantage.

Glenn Phillips looks to heave him over mid-wicket but picks out Glenn Maxwell on the boundary.

I totally agree with Joe, the semis and and the final should be done in a style similar to the NBA. Best of three for each round - would create more revenue with our really adding too much extra time on to the tournament.

    Williamson 81, Phillips 18

Good over from Pat Cummins. He concedes a wide from the first ball before five singles and a two off the final delivery, but at this stage Australia will take no boundaries.

He bowled a lot of slower balls in that over but he varied his length and line well.

That over was the most expensive of Mitchell Starc's international career. Before that drop by Josh Hazlewood, Kane Williamson was 21 off 21. He then hit 56 off the next 21.

  17. NZ 136-2published at 16 overs

    Four more! Wow.

Kane Williamson plays a trademark steer between third and point to move to 77 not out off 42 balls.

He takes 22 off that Mitchell Starc over.

  18. NZ 132-2published at 15.5 overs

Four more. Kane Williamson goes into out and slashes over point to move to 73.

This is the highest score by a captain in a men's T20 World Cup final now. Marlon Samuels' 85 not out is the highest score by any batter.

Kane Williamson stands motionless and just whips Mitchell Starc over square leg for another six.

He's taken four, four, six from this over so far.
