  1. NZ 37-3published at 15.5 overs

More groans as Devon Conway edges past his stumps. Potts is looking more and more like Australia's Scott Boland by the over.

He confidently tells Ben Stokes where he wants his fielders with one ball to go in the session.

There's an airy drive from Daryl Mitchell. It was a poor shot.

Stuart Broad adjusts his head band and stares at him.

  3. NZ 36-3published at 15 overs

    Lead by 27

Stuart Broad is looking far better having switched ends. He's got his stomp on now with his arms theatrically going up into the air just to get further into the minds of the batters. This time Daryl Mitchell edges but it's short of Zak Crawley at second slip.

Potts will get one more over before lunch.

I definitely think New Zealand need to sit down at lunch and go 'this is what we need to do'. There needs to be a bit more positivity.

That's the top order all back in the pavillion without any pressure put back on England or the bowlers.

That is a big wicket because Tom Latham does like hanging around. He's quite happy soaking up the pressure.

Out! Matthew Potts is having a debut you dream about.

Four in the first innings and Kane Williamson and now Tom Latham in this. Massive wickets.

Him walking down the wicket to speak to his partner is quite unusual for a caught behind but the slips and Ben Stokes, at mid-off, went up straight away.

Matthew Potts has another wicket! Or does he?!

Tom Latham is given caught behind but he isn't sure he's hit it.

Joe Root was convinced. Ben Foakes wasn't.

The game is alive. You can hear it in the gasps and groans here as Devon Conway misses a drive to Stuart Broad. The sun is out now but there is still something happening in the air and off the pitch.

You could see in the delight on Joe Root's face how big a moment that was for England in this game. Devon Conway is in now. This is a crucial period.

That's not a bad person for Matty Potts to get twice in his first game.

I was just thinking about how well these two were batting - they'd soaked up pressure and there were danger signs for England - but Potts has struck. As Ben Stokes said, he can make things happen.

    Williamson c Bairstow b Potts 15 (NZ 30-2)

Matthew Potts has done it again! Kane Williamson is back in the hutch.

Just as New Zealand were settling England's debutant has delivered. Williamson tries to force him off the back foot but gets a thick edge to Jonny Bairstow at third slip.
