You think YOUR morning was bad...

Odd morning, almost severed my fingers when loo window dropped on my hand. 10minutes trying to free my fingers in my underpants with a hammer (provided by neighbour who watched with interest), then 5 hours excellent treatment (and waiting) with A&E at Chelsea and Westminster. But on the positives have enjoyed heavenly two sessions with TMS… and swerved hosting lunch for mother and sisters in law. Hmmm… almost worth the injury!

A decent little battle is brewing between Matt Parkinson and Tom Blundell, who again attempts to charge the England leg spinner but can only fire straight back at the Lancashire man.
Joe Root is asking the umpires to check the shape of the ball again - but to no avail.

Chasing anything under 200 on a day three Lord's pitch should be relatively straightforward, so why am I nervous already?

James Anderson finds the edge as he lures Daryl Mitchell into a loose drive, but it lands safely through gully and New Zealand can run two to bring up their 100 - a lead of 91.

It was nip and tuck but that's good running. Every single run is significant.
Some sharp fielding from Matthew Potts has Tom Blundell scrambling as New Zealand try and nick a single.
Potts narrowly misses the stumps but it was a good effort, keeping the batters honest.
That should worry England.

I love a wrist spinner who smiles at you all the time. They must be really aggravating. Shane Warne would do it too.
Matt Parkinson is giving it some air to try and tempt Tom Blundell - and it is working.
Three times he comes dancing down the pitch only to mistime the shot.
You sense something could happen very soon.
Can the change of ends produce some magic from James Anderson? Not yet.
Tom Blundell is starting to looking in good touch as he pushes a drive through the covers for two.
New Zealand's lead is up to 88, which I would argue is starting to become problematic for England.

Anderson is changing ends. He's coming on at the Nursery end, having bowled exclusively from the Pavilion end in this Test so far.

There's a beaming smile on Matt Parkinson's face as he comes into the attack - and he very nearly tempts Tom Blundell into a loose stroke as he considers charging down the track but can only inside edge the ball into the onside..
Ooohs and ahhs echo around the ground.

Matt Parkinson's waited a long time for this.
Yet it's such a tight game with runs at a premium.
That might tempt Mitchell to do something rash.
Here's Matt Parkinson.
The camera is now focusing on Matt Parkinson as he warms up.
It is Ben Stokes to continue for now though - and that's better from Daryl Mitchell as he perfectly times a flick off the pads through midwicket for four.
And again next ball! Mitchell drives down the ground for back-to-back boundaries. He moves to 38 from 62 balls.
Was that last over just a glitch?
