I can't quite work out what has happened. Brilliant from Broad and Anderson. I texted Jimmy last night and I said England were still in with a chance and he agreed, saying they needed six for 50 this morning.

I like this from England, they are taking the initiative. They will not be dictated to by New Zealand, it's a very positive start.

Nice positive start for England. Crawley clips one off his hips to get off the mark and Lees picks up another boundary.

The first two mornings of this Test were full of wickets. But after a slight rain-delay, we got our first century this morning, courtesy of Daryl Mitchell, who played superbly.

England will be happy with their fightback this morning. New Zealand have only added 49 runs for the loss of six wickets.

But the task ahead is an almighty one. They need 277 to win this Test.

The sun is now shining and it feels like a great day to bat. Can England pull it off?
