England now lead the three-Test series 2-0, with the final Test to come at Headingley from 23 June.

They'd come into this series having won one of their past 17 Tests - they have won two in a row.

They chased 277 last week and they've chased 299 today. It is a record chase at Trent Bridge.

Baz Ball is in full effect. Buckle up. This is gonna be one hell of a ride.

    Breaking

    My word!

Trent Boult bounds in and Ben Stokes stands there and slashes it through the covers. It was reminiscent of the stroke that won the game at Headingley in 2019.

What have we just witnessed? England have scored 160 runs in 16 overs after tea. WOW!

"Barmy Army, Barmy Army" rings around Trent Bridge.

    Four more!

Ben Stokes crouches and flicks through mid-wicket and the ball races away to the boundary.

    England are ONE hit away!

I'm not even going to bother waiting for that to land. I know it's six.

    Shottttt!

Trent Boult pitches it up and Ben Stokes just whacks him over long-on.

I almost feel a bit sorry for the TV highlights editor. Rushing to try and cram all these shots into the hour programme.

Almost got it in his left hand as he landed. He got to the ball a bit too early.

    Oh!

Ben Foakes pops one up, playing a drive off the back foot, and Michael Bracewell gets across from short cover but the balls pops out of his right hand.

He grabs for it with his left but he can't gather.

A word for Ben Foakes please. An immaculate wicket-keeper, and a batsman (who may be less talented than some of our previous keepers) but one who is well aware of the importance of holding up an end. Well done selectors.

That was a stunning stroke from Foakes. He's made some important contributions to England over the last couple of Tests and here he is looking to finish it off.

    Oh, shot.

Ben Foakes gets high up on his toes and flicks the ball through mid-wicket for four more. That was beautifully timed.

He's had a very good series so far.

England changed the mentality of the way they play. It's as simple as that.

It has calmed down a bit.

    Three from the over.

Jonny Bairstow is smiling and looking relaxed. You can just sense he is bubbling up inside and is absolutely buzzing.

    Why not?

Oh! Almost a moment of brilliance from Matt Henry.

He dives, at full length, to stop a Ben Stokes drive and then hurls the ball towards the stumps at the striker's end.

Stokes was out of his ground and would have been out with a direct hit. It was only a couple of inches away.

Pete Hotchkiss: Wow wow wow. Pretty sure I won't see many innings like that again.

Jamie Raynor: Jonny Bairstow, take a bow. Privileged to have witnessed that.

Grant Kennett: Take a bow Jonny Bairstow - even over radio, that was goosebumps on goosebumps.
