    Conway b J Overton 26 (NZ 83-4)

And he strikes! A first Test wicket for Jamie Overton!

Full, a hint of movement and Devon Conway attempts a drive but inside edges onto his stumps. A lovely moment as twin brother Craig applauds on the balcony.

A big breakthrough for England - Conway is a fine player and was starting to look good.

Overton was very full or short this morning. You don't want to give him long spells. It's Potts who needs to do that 'grunty' type of work.

A change of bowling as Jamie Overton returns.

  4. NZ 83-3published at 34 overs

Matthew Potts continues to probe away with little luck, as Ben Stokes asks the umpires to have a look at the ball in hope of a change - and he also has no luck.

Going back to my colleague Matthew Henry's wise observation of 'it's hot', if anyone has any tips of how to keep flies out of your house on warm days when you need the windows open, please send them my way.

    Driving me mad.

Josh Roberts: Surely if he’d hit that, there would have been some kind of deviation on the ball? Third ump seemed to make the decision fairly quickly whilst looking at a frozen frame. Looked fairly conclusively like it had hit the pad first in slo-mo.

Oh, that is lovely. Devon Conway with a picture perfect straight drive down the ground off Broad, and he holds the pose too for good measure.

Rate that. A nice battle is bubbling between this pair.

There are long queues for the water fountains behind the Western Terrace. It's hot.

  8. NZ 79-3published at 32 overs

A maiden from Matthew Potts, who's bowled nicely despite not taking a wicket yet. He's conceded just 14 runs from his 11 overs.

I'm sorry but that DRS call is up there with the worst I've seen. It was a plum LBW.

    Will MK

Absolutely no chance that there was an inside edge on that.

Stuart Broad, still donning his trademark headband, concedes two fours in his over, both from the bat of Devon Conway. The first is clipped off his legs for four and the second a sumptuous drive through the covers and Broad is miffed.

That lbw decision, meanwhile, continues to divide opinion.

From the pictures I've seen, I would not say it's categorical that there was an inside edge.

I think he's a bit lucky they've ruled an inside edge. You feel the ball has gone through.

And saved by the inside edge, too, as replays show it would have pitched in line and clipped leg stump.

    England look gutted.

Simon called it. There's an inside edge and Nicholls survives.

The crowd wanted the review. Did Nicholls get something on it? It doesn't look a terrible shout.

Was it outside off? That's the question.

  17. England reviewpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 23 June 2022

Ooooh, now then! Potts traps Nicholls on the pads, it's very full, almost yorker length and the batter plays all around it.

Ben Foakes is keen, but has it done too much? Drifting down leg? Ben Stokes wants a look.

A tidy over from Broad once again, who isn't showing any signs of missing his partner in crime Anderson at this stage.
