Jim Clarke: A dropped catch for Foakes is 4 byes against any other keeper. They'd just watch it run to the boundary. The fact that he's disappointed says it all. Top class.
There is a buzz of anticipation around the ground as England eye another wicket before lunch.
New Zealand taking no risks as they limp towards the interval.
Inside edge....but down!
That will go down as a drop but it was a very, very tough chance for Ben Foakes. Devon Conway with a thick inside edge and Foakes diving full stretch to his right could only get a glove on it.
Unlucky.

Devon Conway scampers through for a leg-bye to bring new batter Henry Nicholls on strike - and what was he thinking there?!
It was a wildly wide delivery from Matthew Potts but Nicholls went after it and very nearly edged through to the slips.

Potts has looked impressive in international cricket. He looks like he belongs in this territory.
Another brilliant ball from Matthew Potts, it's a decent length with a bit of movement and the ball whistles past the outside edge of Devon Conway's bat.
England have their tails up.

It's a terrific dismissal. A very, very good ball. Full enough to move just a little to find the edge, but not enough to miss the edge.
This is turning into quite a good session for England. The ball hasn't done much but Broad has got it to do a little.

A lovely piece of bowling. He got that ball to shape away a bit.
Williamson c Foakes b Broad 31 (NZ 62-3)
The bowling change has worked!
It is brilliant bowling from Stuart Broad, whose previous delivery jagged back into Kane Williamson.
The next delivery just shapes away and Williamson feathers an edge through to Ben Foakes.
Just the one run from Matthew Potts' sixth over - he has been very miserly so far as Stuart Broad is thrown the ball for a pre-lunch burst.

It's been a very different type of game so far, but still very enjoyable. It's been unusual to see Jack Leach on so early but that's indicative of the conditions.
There's a brief flurry of excitement from an otherwise steady Jack Leach over as Devon Conway goes for the reverse sweep with Stuart Broad at backward point waiting for the catch - but it flies through on the bounce.
Stand down, everyone.

My last ever game for my village team (before they folded) was also my 40th birthday weekend. Somehow convinced my (9 minute younger!) twin brother to don some whites and get on a cricket pitch for the first time in 25 years. He stood at mid-on and watched me get a five-fer. We then both suffered the ignominy of twin ducks with the bat. Still one of the best cricket memories I've ever had though.

Matthew Potts is back for his second spell replacing Jamie Overton and is bang on the money with that tempting line just outside off-stump.
A maiden checks some of New Zealand's momentum.

Andy Zaltzman is struggling to find out whether Jamie Overton is the first Jamie to play Test cricket for England.
Who'd have thought this would be the stat to stump him?
Both these New Zealand batters are getting going.
Here's a belter of a shot by Devon Conway, who smashes Jack Leach away for a one-bounce four.
That's more like it from Kane Williamson.
Jack Leach drops it too short and the Black Caps skipper plays a beautiful late cut away for another four.
