It is actually amazing to watch. That little session where Jonny Bairstow came in was just incredible hitting.

I actually think this is the start of something special with this Test side, I genuinely do. It is going to be very entertaining with Ben Stokes and Baz McCullum.

As a bowler you are trying to give Jonny Bairstow one and bowl at the other guy but you can't even do that - it is just fours and sixes.

Ben Stokes leads the rest of the England side down to the edge of the field to shake hands with the New Zealand players. It has been a series played in a fantastic spirit

We knew he would and into the pavillion it goes!

What a time Jonny Bairstow is having at the moment. I just think he is impossible to bowl at at the moment in this form.

They have just whitewashed the world champions and if anyone had suggested that after Grenada three months ago they'd have thought you were mad. It is a remarkable turnaround.

    HE CAN!!

Jonny Bairstow heaves Michael Bracewell through mid-wicket for another massive six to win the match!

The crowd want it over and I think New Zealand want it over too.

  8. Eng 290-3published at 54.1 overs

Jonny Bairstow rocks back and pulls Michael Bracewell away for four.

Six to win. He can't, can he?

If you're choosing between Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root it is quite ridiculous, but it is Bairstow that is providing the fireworks at the moment and Root has just been guiding the team home.

New Zealand have been on the ropes. They have thrown the odd decent counter with Mitchell and Blundell but the other guy just keeps walking through them and they just look done.

  11. Eng 286-3published at 54 overs

Neil Wagner is into the attack. A rather thankless task at this stage of the match.

He shares a laugh and a joke with Joe Root after beating his outside edge on his way to bowling a maiden.

It is all very relaxed and good natured out there.

Give him one and bowl at the other fella.

The way that Jonny Bairstow has played has been remarkable. How do you bowl at him at the moment?

There is no margin for error - he's hitting the good balls for boundaries now.

  14. Eng 286-3published at 53 overs

Rooooottt is the chant as Joe sweeps Michael Bracewell for four.

Root then nudges it square into the onside to bring up the 100 partnership from just 79 deliveries.

  15. Eng 281-3published at 52 overs

This partnership is worth 96 from 73 balls with just 15 more needed.

Two Yorkshire players seeing it home for England. Just what the locals wished for.

  16. Eng 280-3published at 51.4 overs

Ha, Joe Root attempts another reverse scoop. Tim Southee pushes it wide in response but it disappears fine for four byes.

  17. Eng 275-3published at 51 overs

Jonny Bairstow clobbers the ball through the covers for another four to move on to 60.

Root is on 80 with 21 needed to win.

    Get hitting, Joe.

  18. Not outpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

Not out. The ball clearly hit Bairstow's arm.

That's all of New Zealand's reviews gone, though it all feels pretty academic now.

That is quite wide really, the wicketkeeper should be able to see that and tell them.

  20. New Zealand reviewpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

Jonny Bairstow goes for a reverse sweep and the ball loops up into the air and into the hands of Tom Blundell.

Kane Williamson, with a big grin on his face, goes for a rather optimistic review.
