England all-rounder Ben Stokes talking about the World Cup final on Sky Sports: "You get to the ground and you start your prep like you normally do, it's just like another day. You come out to the middle, do some bowl-throughs and get some throw downs, and you just start playing the game of cricket that's ahead of you.

"You play so much cricket that you do get used to it, but you do know it's a World Cup final. Once you get over into the ground, seeing the spectators, that's a bit of a nervy bit but once you get over the line it's just another game.

"We bowled so well, we restricted them to a score and walking out there three down, there wasn't any scoreboard pressure. Looking back at it there, 71-3 chasing 240 is a walk in the park.

"But World Cup final, New Zealand's bowling attack in overcast conditions on a bowler-friendly surface - that was always going to be a tough ask. But there wasn't that scoreboard pressure to go at seven or eight an over at any time.

"It was just about getting a partnership together with Jos Buttler, and we all know what he can do, he can score at a run a ball without even trying. That was a huge partnership for us."

You have probably already noticed, but it is very warm across most of the UK at the moment, particularly in the south east. So we should make it through the match without any interruptions (I'm pretending not to notice the forecast for Monday and Tuesday...).

England captain Jos Buttler at the toss: "We would have had a bowl, too. But it was pretty 50/50, a lot of the time batting first is the way to go here at Lord's.

"The pitch looks like there's a bit of moisture in it, but it's going to be very hot today so maybe the first 10-15 overs will be tricky. If we come through that well, it will be a good pitch to bat on but maybe not much pace in it.

    "Our team is unchanged.

"We've got to move on [from the first ODI] and just treat it as one of those days. There are things to take from it, we must do that, but I said after the game that our batting has been such a strength for us over the last few years and I certainly don't think that's going to change after that game.

"Three years [since the World Cup final] have flown by. Any time you come to Lord's there is a buzz and you can sense that today, the guys are really excited to be here."

India captain Rohit Sharma at the toss: "Compared to The Oval there is slightly less grass, but it looks like there is some moisture. Looking at the size of the ground we thought it's better to have a score in front of us.

"Virat Kohli is back in for us instead of Shreyas Iyer.

"Jasprit Bumrah is a quality bowler across all formats. He has proven that again and again and gives us an extra dimension to our attack, we can use him however we want to, in all phases of the game. It's always nice to have someone like him in the squad.

"I thought wicketkeeping was quite challenging in the last game, we know it often is in England where the ball tends to move past the stumps. But Rishabh Pant took some good catches and he understands how to apply himself and those catches were very important for us.

"This is one of the best grounds in the world, all the guys are looking forward to playing here. It is a wonderful atmosphere and there is nowhere better to play your cricket."
