That is as plumb as it gets. Joe Root got through the shot too early and it was nicely flighted by Chahal.

You could hear the thud of Joe Root hitting his pad with his bat from the media centre.
Root lbw Chahal 11 (Eng 82-3)
Ben Stokes was wrong. It was bang on middle. As out as it can get.
Joe Root smacks his bat onto his pad in frustration as he walks off.

Stokes immediately told Root from the non-striker's end that it needed reviewing.
He gestured that it was going down leg side.

In one of my proudest moments, my phone told me I that I'd managed a personal record of only 221 steps on the day of the 2019 WC final. Real commitment to not moving!

Jonny Bairstow looked set for another monster innings but was clean bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal as he went for a huge heave.

Stokes isn't going to be pinned down. You can really see the Bazball mindset already, look at the intent.

Ben Stokes would've had his heart in his mouth for a second there.
In the air....but safe!
Ben Stokes goes for a huge slog towards deep mid-wicket but the ball fizzes high into the air and falls just safe of the fielder running back towards the boundary.

The last seven ODIs here, six have been won by the team batting first.
The only exception was the World Cup final, which was technically a tie. Twice.
Joe Root has not had much of the strike lately and Ben Stokes ensures he will be at the non-striker's end again after pulling around the corner for a single off Prasidh Krishna's final delivery.
Lord's looks an absolute picture by the way. It's a full house, with glorious weather overhead and that familiar hum of anticipation buzzing around the ground.
Glorious shot from Ben Stokes as he skips down the track and plays a cross-batted drive that fizzes through the covers for four.
Ben Stokes is the new batter as he blocks the final two balls of Yuzvendra Chahal's over.
That wicket came at an important time for India as Jonny Bairstow was just getting going.

It looks like Bairstow just completely missed it through the air. He set himself for a conventional sweep shot but it was more of a yorker-length delivery.
It felt premeditated, looking to go for a big shot.
What a moment to lose a wicket. You just felt England were getting their flow back.
Bairstow b Chahal 38 (Eng 72-2)
The commentator's curse strikes again!
Jonny Bairstow goes for the big heave into the onside but seems to lose the flight and the ball clatters into his stumps.
Huge wicket for India, big blow for England.

I asked Jonny Bairstow about his remarkable batting form and how he does it.
He just said he really doesn't think too much about it, he just gets on with it. Maybe we should all just stop thinking?

I was on call in a sweltering surgical unit running between the text commentary and a functioning radio elsewhere on the ward. Converted my Nigerian surgical colleague who hadn't watched much cricket beforehand to the sport that day. There may have been a slight delay for prescriptions during the super over!

And again! Jonny Bairstow is on the mood as he pulls through mid-wicket for another boundary.
He then guides the final ball of the over down to point for a single to move onto 37 from 35 deliveries.
