  2. 'Not easy' to win in England - Rohitpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 17 July 2022

India captain Rohit Sharma: "I am very, very pleased. We wanted to achieve something as a group in white-ball and I think pretty much we did. Going forward there are things we need to improve as a group. I am quite pleased with the effort from the boys.

"It is not an easy place to win games. The way we played this entire white-ball leg was fantastic. It is something we have wanted to do for some time and finally to achieve it was a great effort from the entire unit."

  3. Buttler 'delighted' for Topleypublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 17 July 2022

More from England captain Jos Buttler: "Reece [Topley] has been brilliant, I am delighted to see him doing so well. We were searching for ways to create wickets and it has been a tough schedule. Reece has been creaking a little bit so we might have to look after him like we do with all our players."

  7. 'We had to take all of our chances'published at 18:49 British Summer Time 17 July 2022

England captain Jos Buttler on his missed stumping of Rishabh Pant: "If you give good players a chance they will hurt you and had we taken those chances we had a good hold with a long tail. But with the score we put up we had to take all our chances.

"I am an experienced cricketer but a young captain, so I am not worrying too much. I have lots to learn, and I need time to do that."

  9. 'Topley has grabbed his opportunity with both hands'published at 18:42 British Summer Time 17 July 2022

We have spoken about the bowlers England are missing but that presents opportunities for other guys and Reece Topley has grabbed his with both hands.

We have talked about his injury problems but he is obviously hungry to take the chance he has been given and has done himself the world of good in both the T20 and ODI series.

Jos Buttler has maybe just given an indication why Reece Topley did not bowl his 10 overs.

"It has been a tough schedule," Buttler says.

"Reece is just creaking a bit. We will have to look after him."

  11. 'We're not hitting our straps with the bat'published at 18:37 British Summer Time 17 July 2022

England captain Jos Butter: "It was a good wicket once you got yourself in so we were a bit light with the bat. But the start we made with the ball gave us a chance and that missed stumping cost us. Pant is a really good player and you give a player like that a second chance they are going to hurt you.

"We are not quite hitting our straps as a batting unit but we are not far off. We are just not producing what we are capable of. So hopefully individually and collectively we can find a solution.

"These guys are fantastic to work and there is still a lot of enjoyment. Hopefully we will find our best cricket soon."

  12. 'Pant calmer and more mature'published at 18:34 British Summer Time 17 July 2022

You have to give credit to Hardik Pandya because every time Rishabh Pant got fidgety he would come down the pitch and have a chat with him to calm him down.

I also noticed during the Test that Pant would talk to himself and calm himself down. It is something he has picked up over the last year and a half. He is calmer and more mature.

"We are not far off but not managing to produce what we are capable of," Jos Buttler tells TMS.

England have lost both the T20 and ODI series, remember.

The missed stumping was the one rash shot Pant played. Every other decision he made was pretty faultless and when you get a player in that sort of form you you have to take those chances.

England's 259 all out looked below par. There were a few 'what if' moments - that one where Liam Livingstone and Jos Buttler fell in the 37th over in particular.

I thought it was a really well timed and mature innings from Rishabh Pant.

We know he has all the shots and can be explosive. But the way he manoeuvred the ball around, defended well, left well and played the big shots when he had the chance.

joey gambles: England have major problems. Batting failures, at least three bowlers not worth their place and a captain that has no idea.

Russell Merryman: Why has Topley only bowled seven overs? There's no point keeping your best bowler for the death if you've already been buried.

ZS-NVB: Can we please bring back Morgan? It's not as if we have anyone who can bat in his place and at least he's a good captain.
