Butler 19, Moeen 5
Moeen Ali is the latest to get into a tangle against the short ball. That boundary to Buttler hasn't put Siraj off and the India quick gets one to arrow towards Moeen's right ear.
Moeen has been out there 26 balls now for his five runs.
Buttler has timed one! He's really timed it, in fact.
Much better against the short ball.
After an hour and 45 minutes play we have finally reached 20 overs. I don't like grumbling about over-rates but I'm hungry and my food is in the fridge.

The pitch is a little two-paced, a bit spongy. The extra bit of grass takes a lot of pace off the ball so that's why Buttler was through the shot a little early. We have seen that with most of the dismissals this morning.
Buttler 14, Moeen 3
Buttler looks to be fine if a little sheepish after a 10-minute over.
Maybe this pitch isn't as good as it looked at first?

The Old Trafford press box showing the damage of a blow to the window. Writing about cricket can be a dangerous business...
We're back under way and Buttler has been hit on the helmet again! This is more of a glancing blow but is still a hefty hit.
There's going to be another stoppage as Buttler is seen to by the physio and a third helmet is run out.

The problem with the one day game is that we don't have a second innings to catch up.
Greg, Risby
Buttler has had a new helmet taken out. He's going to continue.

That was a quick bouncer, Buttler was a little late to get onto it and it was flush on the helmet.
That looks painful. I don't think he is 100%.
Eeek. Jos Buttler has been copped on the head by a speedy bouncer from Mohammed Siraj.
The physio jogs on. Buttler is rubbing he side of his head not looking 100%.

Hardik Pandya has been the difference so far. He has been extremely disciplined with his line and length.
That Chahal over brought to an end a spell of four overs, three maidens, two wickets for two runs from Hardik Pandya.
Buttler 11, Moeen 3
Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal keeps things as tight as a teenagers jeans in the noughties. Two from the over. England's run-rate has stalled. It was over sixes at one stage. It's now 4.67.
Andy Zaltzman
BBC Test Match Special statistician
After nine overs England were 66-2, averaging more than seven runs an over. Since then they have scored just 16 runs in eight overs and lost two wickets.
Four more dots are bowled to Moeen who has two from 16 balls. Buttler has 10 from 20. The tweeters saying "why don't they play themselves in?" will be happy, I assume?
Time for some spin...

Imagine playing for Lanchester CC yesterday and having one of the world's fastest bowlers in the opposition? Five wickets for Mark Wood, playing for his boyhood club Ashington as he returns from an elbow injury. Good news all round, except for the Lanchester batters., external
Hardik Pandya looks like he's been to a hipster Manchester barber before this game. He has his orange collar turned up and those tube bandage things on his arms.
Moeen spends his one ducking a weaving his way out of short balls. It's another maiden for India's all-rounder.
His accuracy is as good as his hair.
I said the other day that England must have done a deal with devil once upon a time that meant they couldn't be good in red and white-ball cricket at the same time.
