  1. SA 8-0published at 3 overs

James Anderson is still going over the wicket to Sarel Erwee, with the ball brushing off his pads for a leg bye.

Anderson then switches back round to Dean Elgar who shoulders arms rather enthusiastically.

There's sun and blue skies over Lord's now. Dare I say good conditions for batting?

Darren: Whilst I'm astonished that Aggers has never seen an episode of Friends, I've never seen an episode of The Sopranos. This is apparently something to be frowned upon.

  4. SA 7-0published at 2 overs

That's lovely as well. Dean Elgar pushes the ball into the off side for two.

The Proteas skipper is looking in good touch already.

It's a beautiful drive from Dean Elgar. You can see Stuart Broad trying to take this ball away from the left-hander but it's just gone on with the angle and is slightly over-pitched.

  6. SA 5-0published at 2.2 overs

    Brilliant shot.

Stuart Broad slightly over-pitches and Dean Elgar plays a perfect on-drive down the ground for four.

Stuart Broad is going to be bowling and he's got two left-handers to bowl at. He's got a pretty good record against left-handers, most notably David Warner.

Stuart Broad (yes the bandana is there) will open at the other end.

He's a very compact player, Elgar, and I'd imagine as a quick bowler he could really demoralise you.

Elgar is very disciplined up front. You can see what James Anderson is trying to do, taking the ball away from the left-hander.

  11. SA 1-0published at 1 overs

Four slips and a gully in place for Anderson as he comes round the wicket to left-hander Dean Elgar.

Elgar is watchful first up before pushing the ball into the off side for a single to get South Africa under way.

Jack Leach will open the bowling for....only joking, it's Jimmy Anderson.

Last night Aggers claimed that he has never seen an episode of Friends. Everyone has seen Friends, right?

It's been a brilliant morning for South Africa once again. I think the bowlers would probably have wanted to curb the innings a little quicker than that but conditions are a little easier for batting today.

There is still a little bit of cloud around and England will fancy themselves with Broad and Anderson.

A brilliant moment for Kagiso Rabada and richly deserved too. He bowled superbly.

It has been a funny old morning. Here's Stuart Broad with one of the most understated dismissals of the summer so far.

That's the spirit. Bowling is definitely the stronger department with both these teams.

The conditions are still bowler friendly too, though not quite as friendly as yesterday morning.

Still, I expect Anderson and Broad will be itching to get going.

England did win the Lord's Test match earlier this summer after being bowled out for 141 in their first innings.
