Everything is perfect from the perspective of an English fan who has paid their money to come and watch... apart from the score.

Chris Jones: As a nation we down tools on a Friday afternoon because Stuart Broad is batting.
As if to demonstrate how strong South Africa's bowling attack is, Marco Jansen is on for his first spell of this innings.
Stuart Broad isn't bothered though as another slog flies off the edge, over the slips and away for four.
More cheers from the crowd who are being entertained at least
Broad has raced onto 23 from 19 balls. England are now just 42 behind.

England in the current position probably want to get rid of the deficit and avoid an innings defeat. Either way, they're not going to die wondering.
It's comedy cricket all of a sudden as a top-edge from Stuart Broad lands safely despite the despairing dive of Kagiso Rabada at extra cover.
This is fun.

Hooked away down to long leg and that's gone all the way, for sure! He took his eye off it a bit but he knew where it was going to be. The ball flew away over a pretty long boundary down there.
Into the stand!
It is almost a no-look pull from Stuart Broad as he turns away from a short delivery from Anrich Nortje but still smashes the ball over long leg for six!
Ha, Stuart Broad has absolutely nailed a wide one from Anrich Nortje and it absolutely flies away for four.
And he goes again next ball!
Broad with a huge swing into the on side and the fielder running around from deep square leg misses out on a diving catch and it bounces over the rope.

Lords really has become a fortress over the years, sadly not for England though...

Stuart Broad gets off the mark as he takes a big stride forward and sweeps, forcing the short leg fielder into evasive action.
They run two, with Broad then taking a single off the last ball.

The focus will rightly be on some of the batsmen who all look out of touch in this Test but the fact is SA have bowled an excellent line and length throughout (plus have a bit of extra pace). Can't do much about the fast bowler injuries but take out the 150 cheap runs England conceded due to the usual awful abysmal bowling tactics since we had them six down and so much less pressure on the batsmen in this innings.

After all that, they took the leg bye.
Not out.
It was pitching in line but missing off.

It's hit Stokes on the back leg. No bat.

It was full and it is Stokes. He played a bit of a heave.
A rather ugly heave from Ben Stokes cannons into his pads.
South Africa sends it upstairs. It is Stokes after all.

Ginger Pirlo: BazBall will have these humblings. We should expect it. But still... its ugly when it goes wrong.
Michael Telfer: Its all Zak Crawley's fault don't forget.

There's a hum around Lord's but also a feeling of slight shock. We've got used to miraculous recoveries this summer but I don't think it's going to happen here.
It is time for drinks and everyone to take a breath.
What a spell of bowling that was from Anrich Nortje. Think Allan Donald and Dale Steyn.
Perfectly channelled aggression.
