The other thing that might help England first up this morning is that it looks as though there is a bit of cloud cover.

Best case scenario for the home side is that sticks around just long enough for them to take the three wickets they need to wrap up the South Africa innings, and then the sun comes out...

England will be hoping the game moves on pretty quickly this morning and that they are batting again soon.

They should be helped by the second new ball, which is available after just three overs today.

Then it'll be over to Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad to do their thing...

He added: "We feel really positive in the changing room that we have got ourselves back in the game."

If you missed any of the action from day two, you can watch the best of it right here.

South Africa were in control for much of it but in one quick burst after tea, England did enough to ensure that all hope is not lost - yet...

  6. Good morning!published at 10:30 British Summer Time 19 August 2022

We're all set for another crucial day three at Lord's and, not for the first time this summer, England find themselves up against it.

Ben Stokes led something of a fightback yesterday evening but a late flurry from Keshav Maharaj and Marco Jansen took South Africa to 289-7 at stumps, giving them a commanding lead of 124.

It is going to take something special for England to maintain this 100% winning record in Tests this summer but then that is what they are all about in this bold new era...
