That's another beautiful ball. Crawley was lucky not to edge it.

  5. Eng 6-0published at 1 over

    Target 130

Alex Lees ran three from that dropped catch. It hit Marco Jansen on the wrists, he didn't time his attempt at all. What a start to the England reply.

Zak Crawley also has a bite at one outside his off stump before clumping one through point for three more.

It was a lovely ball from Rabada. It really did bounce sharply.

Not an easy chance, but Jansen got two hands to it so he should definitely have caught it.

Lees dropped on noughtpublished at 0.1 overs

Kagiso Rabada takes the new ball for South Africa and almost strikes first ball! A thick edge from Alex Lees is shelled in the slips by Marco Jansen!

Alex Lees and Zak Crawley are in the middle while the groundsman still trundles over the square on his roller. England keen to get going.

They have got to be wary of how well Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada bowled.

There is absolutely no guarantee about what we are going to see from England's batters.

It's been another day of vintage Broad and Anderson for England. Branderson on song. Here's how Keshav Maharaj was dismissed.

The bowling has been so skilful throughout and overall it's just been too much for any of the batters to withstand.

That leaves 130 to get in about 100 minutes. Possibly 25 overs. Five an over. Too much for tonight?

England will have just over an hour of play, you'd think. With the light we're looking at play ending around 18:30 BST ish tonight. England need 130 to win, South Africa 10 wickets.

It's unlikely that England will get the 130 runs tonight. You would think the light will come into play again.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 11 September 2022

Verreynne c&b Anderson 12 (SA 169 all out)

Kyle Verreynne tries to smash James Anderson into central London and can only manage a top edge that goes a mile into the sky. Anderson does well to adjust, get under the ball and take a comfortable catch to sew up the innings.

  18. SA 169-9published at 56 overs

    Lead by 129

Alex Lees and Zak Crawley will be turning their thoughts towards opening the batting now as Anrich Nortje comes out as last man for South Africa. Stuart Broad is conducting the crowd as he hustles in - Nortje leaves it easily though.
