Miles out if Anderson had hit. Terrible single from Vihari. It wasn't far away.

Risky run....but India survive!

In fact it was more than risky from Hanuma Vihari as he called for a single despite the ball going straight to James Anderson at mid-on.

Anderson goes for the shy at the stumps and misses by a matter of inches. A direct hit there and the diving Cheteshwar Pujara was gone.

What Potts has done well so far is that he has made the batsmen play at everything. I thought Anderson and Broad could have gone more at the stumps in the opening spell.

This is a big, big Test match for both of these players, Hanuma Vihari and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Pujara was dropped but he has got a chance now after having a really good summer with Sussex.

Edgbaston is looking pretty full now, a few may have been caught out by the slightly earlier start time.

There is a buzz around the ground as James Anderson comes steaming in, with Cheteshwar Pujara stealing a single off the first ball before Hanuma Vihari sees off the rest of the over.
