  3. 50 partnership between Madsen & Guestpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Derbyshire (304 & 163-2) need 193 more runs to beat Middlesex (401 & 258-5 dec)

Brooke Guest (27 not out) and Wayne Madsen (35 not out) keeping Derbyshire in range of the victory target of 356.

They have now added 57 for the third wicket. 193 runs still required off a minimum of 41 overs.

  4. Postpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Northants 106-3 need 299 to beat Glos

All results still possible at Wantage Road.

It's been steady stuff after lunch but seven boundaries in 10 balls has given the chase a shot in the arm.

    191 needed in 39 overs.

  5. Kent's innings finally overpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Essex 514 v Kent 581-9

After 187.2 overs, Kent's first innings is complete.

Matt Quinn's dismissal for just four against Dan Lawrence brings it to a conclusion as Joe Denly is absent injured.

They have a lead of 67 runs.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Jackson Birdpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Essex 514 v Kent 580-8

    And another landmark at Chelmsford...

  7. Hannon-Dalby off the mark!published at 15:17 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Warks 467-9 v Surrey 428-8d

Finally, finally, Ollie Hannon-Dalby is off the mark.

Only taken 67 deliveries but he's pinched a single from James Taylor.

The blocking made perfect sense with Michael Burgess chasing his hundred.

But now it's only serving to save the Bears' bowlers putting their boots back on.

...Hannon-Dalby into his stride now, as he takes Reece Topley for back-to-back fours!

  8. 150 runs

150 up for Derbyshirepublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Derbyshire (304 & 152-2) need 204 more runs to beat Middlesex (401 & 258-5 dec)

Brooke Guest starting to get into a rhythm now with some regular boundaries.

A nice little leg glance down to the short boundary in front of the Grand Stand at Lord's brings up Derbyshire's 150.

Is this run chase still alive?

  9. Sussex eight downpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    375 & 158-8) trail Nottinghamshire (534-9 dec) by 1 run

And another wicket falls at Hove.

Archie Lenham leg before to Liam Patterson-White. Sussex still one run behind.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Milnes c sub b Critchley 67 (Essex 514 v Kent 558-8)

Matt Milnes finally has to depart for 67, just shy of his first-class career-best 78.

Sub fielder Luc Benkenstein takes the catch on the deep square-leg boundary off Matt Critchley.

    Still Kent bat on...

  11. Sir Alastair on for a trundlepublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Essex 514 v Kent 547-7

Oh dear - we've got to that stage now at Chelmsford....

Alastair Cook has been brought on for a bowl by Essex and he is "bowling" a mixture of actions it's fair to say.

Some impersonations of other bowlers in amongst his over, but Jackson Bird (31 not out) is filling his boots in the meantime.

Can you shake hands on a draw before tea on the last day?!

  12. Derbyshire consolidatingpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Derbyshire (304 & 122-2) need 234 more runs to beat Middlesex (401 & 258-5 dec)

Brooke Guest (12 not out) and Wayne Madsen (8 not out) certainly much more circumspect in their approach compared to how Shan Masood and Billy Godleman were going about it earlier.

A minimum of 50 overs still to be bowled - 234 more runs need for a win.

  13. wicket

Ben Curran lbw Gohar 18published at 14:55 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Northants 80-3 need 299 to beat Glos

Twice last season - at Cardiff and at home to Durham - Zafar Gohar spun the Glosters to victory.

He's on the board here as Ben Curran tries to flick to leg, misses, and is given lbw.

Possibly outside the line of off stump but the shot didn't do him any favours.

    47 overs remaining.

  14. Pears get a seventh at Grace Roadpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Leicestershire (213 & 122-7) need 248 more runs to beat Worcestershire (348 & 234-5 dec)

    Leicestershire seven wickets down now.

Josh Baker claims his fourth wicket of the innings for Worcestershire as he traps Ed Barnes leg before for 15.

  15. Postpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Northants 77-2 need 299 to beat Glos

Not a great deal has happened at Wantage Road since lunch.

The wicket of Emilio Gay hasn't changed much with Northants just bobbing along at the moment.

222 required in 48 overs so 4.6 an over needed from here.

The problem at Northampton is that the wickets can also get extremely slow so runscoring also becomes tough later in the game.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Matt Milnespublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Essex 514 v Kent 526-7

Matt Milnes' patience and concentration as a nightwatchman initially, but now having gone on well into the next day, is rewarded with a half-century.

It's come from 169 balls and included five fours.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Rawlins b James 9 (Sussex 375 & 136-7 v Nottinghamshire 534-9 dec)

    Sussex slide closer to defeat.

Delray Rawlins is the latest to go cheaply as he horribly chops the ball back on to his own stumps trying to pull a ball from Lyndon James.

Sussex still 23 runs shy of making Notts bat again.

  18. Kent leadpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Essex 514 v Kent 515-7

For those of you who haven't nodded off from this one around lunchtime yesterday, Kent are now ahead by one run.

Essex have now been toiling away for 178 overs....

Matt Milnes (46 not out) closing in on a half-century for Kent.

  19. 100 runs

for Michael Burgesspublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Warks 440-9 v Surrey 428-8d

Michael Burgess lifts James Taylor for six and there's his hundred!

What a fine effort, just his fourth first-class century.

He was 69 when joined by last man Ollie Hannon-Dalby but the No. 11 has held out for a his own half-century - of deliveries faced and still on naught.

166 balls, 10 fours and four sixes for Burgess.

  20. Sussex down to sixpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Sussex (375 & 130-6) trail Nottinghamshire (534-9 dec) by 29 runs

We could be in for a finish soon in this one.

Tom Clark is the latest Sussex wicket to fall as Liam Patterson-White claims another in this match.

Steven Mullaney taking the catch at slip as it eventually found its way to him. Sussex still 29 runs adrift of making Notts bat again with effectively only three wickets in hand.
