  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Bracey lbw b Dawson 2 (Hampshire 342 & 204, Gloucestershire 179 & 66-2)

A second wicket for Hampshire as James Bracey goes cheaply for the second time in the match, leg before wicket to Liam Dawson.

George Scott is still going well on 46, now joined by Miles Hammond.

You feel it's a long way to that unlikely victory of 368 to win. But there is at least one Hampshire fan out there feeling slightly concerned.

  2. Northants tail hold up Surrey victory chargepublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Northants 194 & 192-8 v Surrey 401

Surrey probably hadn't banked on having to bat again, but that's looking increasingly likely thanks to this spirited ninth-wicket stand between Matt Kelly and Simon Kerrigan.

The Northamptonshire pair are both going for their shots, with Kerrigan depositing Colin de Grandhomme down the ground for successive fours just now.

Kelly is 28 not out, with Kerrigan on 25 - and they've now added 50, with the visitors needing just 15 more to avoid an innings defeat.

  3. 25 overs left in the day in Manchesterpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Lancashire 348-9, Warwickshire 315

Lancashire's last pair still together as the hosts' lead creeps up to 33.

The most worrying figure, however, is the one for overs left in the day.

25 still to be sent down. Could be a late one in Manchester!

Bad news for anyone with half an eye on any 7.45 kick-off time at the other end of the East Lancashire Road tonight.

  4. 50 runs

for Dawid Malanpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Yorks 336-5 v Essex 403

Like his partner Harry Brook, it hasn't exactly been a shabby start to the season for Dawid Malan.

The left-hander follows Brook to a half-century from 92 balls, heaving Simon Harmer's full toss to the midwicket boundary.

That's the fourth time in six innings Malan has gone past 50 and Yorkshire are starting to think about a first-innings lead.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Hassan Ali c Yates b McAndrew 4 (Lancashire 335-9, Warwickshire 315)

Lancashire lose their fourth wicket since tea - and it's a fourth scalp of the innings for Aussie Nathan McAndrew as he has Hassan Ali caught at slip.

What can last man Matt Parkinson do?

  6. 50 runs

for Harry Brookpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Yorks 315-5 v Essex 403

Harry Brook (Yorkshire)Image source, Rex Features

What a season Harry Brook is having. This is his seventh first-class innings and he's reached at least 50 in all of them!

The Yorkshire youngster has converted three of those into hundreds so far and you wouldn't bet against him making it four here at Chelmsford.

Brook brings up this latest half-century from 48 balls and he and Dawid Malan have put together a brisk 100 partnership.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Taylor c Overton b de Grandhomme 18 (Northants 194 & 142-8 v Surrey 401)

Colin de Grandhomme took four wickets in Northamptonshire's first innings, but this is his first since they followed on.

Tom Taylor is the man to go, caught in the slips off a thick edge and now Simon Kerrigan has joined Matt Kelly at the wicket.

Surely only a matter of time though, with Surrey still 65 ahead and only two wickets standing.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Harris b Abbas 18 (Hampshire 342 & 204, Gloucestershire 179 & 54-1)

At last a breakthrough for Hampshire - and it's an all international affair as Pakistan paceman Mohammad Abbas bowls Aussie opener Marcus Harris for 17.

George Scott is going well though on 35, now joined in the middle by James Bracey who will be keen to avoid bagging a pair.

  9. wicket

DURHAM DECLARE AT WORCESTERpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Dickson c Cox b Finch 105 (Durham 580-6 dec & 170-1 dec, Worcestershire 309)

South African Sean Dickson reaches a second ton of the game, then gets out.

And Durham declare (for the second time in the game) with a 441-run lead.

The visitors will be hoping to make a few early inroads tonight.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Vilas c Burgess b McAndrew 41 (Lancashire 331-8, Warwickshire 315)

A second wicket in the space of seven balls - and a third of the innings for Aussie paceman Nathan McAndrew as he has home skipper Dane Vilas caught behind.

Lancashire lead by just 16 as Hassan Ali comes in to join Tom Bailey.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Wood c Rhodes b Briggs 1 (Lancashire 331-7, Warwickshire 315)

Another post-tea wicket for Warwickshire as spinner Danny Briggs gets in on the act by getting Luke Wood - to earn himself a second scalp, and a second catch for skipper Will Rhodes.

Lancashire lead, but it's clearly not going to be much of a lead.

  12. Teatime in Cardiffpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Leicestershire 320 & 76-2, Glamorgan 437

    Ffion Wynne
BBC Sport Wales at Sophia Gardens

Leicestershire have recovered nicely from being 15-2 thanks to a steady partnership of 61 between Hassan Azad and Louis Kimber.

Glamorgan were earlier bowled out for 437, taking a healthy lead of 117 after some lower-order bashing from James Weighell, who made 34.

Sophia Gardens remains baked in sunshine, and Michael Hogan and Michael Neser made the most of the new ball with a wicket apiece, Neser removing first-innings top scorer Rishi Patel for just a single.

But Kimber, on 36 and Azad on 32, weathered the storm to see the visitors through until tea.

Marnus Labuschagne has bowled just the two overs, with no sign of any spin so far, so Leicestershire should be confident in batting through the evening session.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Balderson c Hain b McAndrew 11 (Lancashire 326-6, Warwickshire 315)

Early strike after tea for Warwickshire as Nathan McAndrew claims his second wicket.

George Balderson fails to keep down a lifter, balloons an edge to Sam Hain at a wide second slip - and the Bears bag a second bowling point just inside the limit.

Luke Wood comes in to join skipper Dane Vilas.

  14. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Northants 194 & 140-7 v Surrey 401

Tom Taylor is still offering resistance for Northamptonshire, hitting Dan Worrall for two boundaries on the leg side just before tea.

Taylor is 17 not out, with Matt Kelly (2) at the other end. Realistically, though, it's hard to see them denying Surrey a third victory in five games.

Northamptonshire need another 67 to make the home side bat again and so far only Emilio Gay, with a battling 51, has played an innings of substance second time around.

  16. Teatime in Southamptonpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Hampshire 342 & 204, Gloucestershire 179 & 35-0

Solid start second time around for Gloucestershire openers George Scott and Marcus Harris.

A long way to go yet, but the victory target is now down to 333. Do they call that 'a Gooch' in the trade?

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    McManus c Foakes b Clark 16 (Northants 194 & 126-7 v Surrey 401)

Jordan Clark grabs his second wicket as Lewis McManus has a nibble outside off stump and is caught behind.

That's four dismissals in this innings for Ben Foakes as Surrey close in on a victory that would ensure they remain top of the table.

  18. Teatime in Manchesterpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Lancashire 324-5, Warwickshire 315

A lead of nine runs for Lancashire at tea - with still half their batting to come.

103 in the session - but at the cost of four wickets.

Skipper Dane Vilas is on 35. George Balderson is on 11.

  19. Lancashire lead against Bearspublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Lancashire 320-5, Warwickshire 315

Having claimed a third batting point, Lancashire now edge into the lead against Warwickshire.

Skipper Dane Vilas is looking set on 32, having stopped the post-lunch rot, as he so often does. But George Balderson is now into double figures too.

Five more overs to go until the110-over bonus-point cut-off

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Keogh b Worrall 15 (Northants 194 & 118-6 v Surrey 401)

Northamptonshire lose their sixth wicket as Dan Worrall sends down a full delivery that pierces the defences of Rob Keogh and knocks back his off stump.

It's the second wicket of this second innings for Worrall and Surrey need four more...
