    Stokes st Cooke b Labuschagne 26 (Durham 311 & 226-8 v Glamorgan 365)

    The England captain has gone!

Durham billed this game as Ben Stokes versus Marnus Labuschagne and this one is a victory for the Australian.

Bowling his leg spin, Labuschagne lures Stokes out of his crease, spins it past the pads and Chris Cooke whips the bails off.

Stokes has to go for 26 while Labuschagne has 3-33.

    Bracey c Abell b Leach 9 (Gloucestershire 186-9 & 74-5 v Somerset 591-7 dec)

    What a catch!

The second ball after tea, James Bracey goes to sweep Jack Leach from outside off and sends it into the legside where Tom Abell takes it one handed with both feet off the ground.

A great grab from the Somerset skipper. It's a game where everything is going right for Abell and his team.

for Steven Mullaneypublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Middlesex 195 v Nottinghamshire 415 & 295-5 dec

Steven Mullaney needs ten runs to get to his century and a four and a six off Ethan Bamber does the trick.

Only 55 balls needed with six fours and eight sixes.

The skipper then declares with Notts 515 runs ahead.

  5. 'Stokes the big hope'published at 16:01 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Durham 311 & 223-7 v Glamorgan 365

Durham were going along nicely in the afternoon sunshine against a Glamorgan attack missing two bowlers through injury and illness. That was until Marnus Labuschagne was brought back into the attack.

With his second ball he got Alex Lees lbw for 61 as the batter looked to pull him through the legside. Then two overs later he got very lucky as he bowled a full toss to Scott Borthwick. The batter tried to slog sweep through the legside and was bowled on 90. Last week he was out for 89 at Worcester.

With David Bedingham bowled by Michael Neser for six and Ned Eckersley needlessly driving a ball from Andrew Salter into the hands of Michael Hogan at mid off for eight, Durham were suddenly in trouble.

At tea they are 169 ahead but only have three wickets left. England skipper Ben Stokes is their big hope. He has 24 but has survived a chance when dropped behind the keeper on 13.

I didn't think there would be enough time left in this game for Durham to build a sufficient enough lead to then have the time to bowl Glamorgan out again. They haven't bowled a side out twice yet this season. But that will be taken out of their hands now anyway by the looks of things.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Robinson c Jacks b Overton 71 (Kent 230 v Surrey 671-9 dec)

Ollie Robinson pulls Jamie Overton into the leg-side and it's caught by Will Jacks.

    Innings over.

Surrey will surely enforce the follow-on with a lead of 441 as tea is taken.

  7. Tea at Bristolpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Gloucestershire 186-9 & 74-4 v Somerset 591-7 dec

Another session completely dominated by Somerset.

Four Gloucestershire batters already gone and the Cider Boys have 32 overs after tea to wrap up the game with a day to spare.

  8. Tea at Headingleypublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Yorkshire 251-5 v Lancashire 566-9 dec

A session that finally belonged to Yorkshire.

Joe Root and Harry Duke batted throughout as they grew their sixth-wicket stand to 117.

Root went to his 37th first-class ton in the meantime.

  9. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Yorkshire 250-5 v Lancashire 566-9 dec

Yorkshire's 250 is up and that's a second batting bonus point.

One over to go until tea as Luke Wells comes on for an over of spin.

  10. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Warwickshire 285-3 v Northants 597-6 dec

Sam Hain and Will Rhodes have batted all through the afternoon session.

Their partnership is now worth 172 and with Rhodes on 83, it only seems a matter of time before the Bears skipper joins Hain as a centurion.

  11. Division Two updatepublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

Anuj Dal is now up to 77 and Derbyshire are 492-7, a lead of 124 over Worcestershire.

Steven Mullaney has bludgeoned his way to 88 as Nottinghamshire are 282-5, leading by 502 over Middlesex.

Archie Lenham has just removed Hassan Azad for 54 as Leicestershire are now 99-2, 141 behind Sussex.

    Well played Sam Hain!

The Warwickshire number four nudges one into the leg side to bring up his century off 239 balls.

Often criticised for not converting more of his good starts into three figures, Hain has always looked on course for a ton today.

A first one of the season - a 12th of his career - to go with two 50s.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Gilchrist c Curran b Jacks 5 (Kent 224-9 v Surrey 671-9 dec)

Will Jacks is on for a maiden first-class five-for.

The part-time spinner gets Nathan Gilchrist, Sam Curran taking a good catch at long-on.

    Jacks has 4-63.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Higgins c Davies b Gregory 16 (Gloucestershire 186-9 & 50-4 v Somerset 591-7 dec)

Ryan Higgins is out for the second time today!

The ball is not there to cut and Higgins is cramped and succeeds in edging Lewis Gregory behind.

Only five wickets to go for Somerset with Glos captain Graeme van Buuren out with a shoulder injury.

  15. 100 runs

for Rootpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Yorkshire 241-5 v Lancashire 566-9 dec

    And there's Joe Root's 37th first-class century.

It's been a really controlled knock, off 150 balls with 10 fours, and just what Yorkshire needed.

He's getting them back into this Roses match, but still a long way to go.

  17. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Durham 311 & 209-6 v Glamorgan 365

A big let-off for the England captain!

Ben Stokes goes to sweep Andrew Salter and only manages a top edge. Michael Neser, running back from slip makes a valiant attempt as he dives to take it, but the ball bounces out of his hands.

  18. 50 runs

for Steven Mullaneypublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Middlesex 195 v Nottinghamshire 415 & 236-5

A second half century of the game for Notts skipper Steven Mullaney.

Excellent intent in this knock as it's come off 31 balls with four fours and four maximums as he gears up for a declaration with his side 456 runs ahead.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Milnes c Pope b de Grandhomme 13 (Kent 207-8 v Surrey 671-9 dec)

    Lovely bowling.

Colin de Grandhomme gets one to nip away slightly from Matt Milnes and he edges to Ollie Pope at second slip.

Surrey will want to wrap up this first innings before tea.

  20. 50 runs

for Robinsonpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 14 May 2022

    Kent 201-7 v Surrey 671-9 dec

Kent wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson goes to fifty.

Surrey had seven half-centurions in their innings, Robinson is the first for the hosts at Beckenham.

They still need another 321 to avoid the follow-on. Unlikely.
