    Terrific morning of Roses cricket so far with Lancashire striking early before a Yorkshire counter-attack and then Matt Parkinson uprooting Brook's middle stump.

    Harry Brook looked in magnificent touch, an on drive at the start of his innings which had the Yorkshire fans purring.

    His dismissal before lunch vital for Lancashire on a pitch which still looks a belter to bat on. We also had the small matter of Joe Root v James Anderson. Brilliant viewing for a good crowd.

    Some of the locals are enjoying a nice thirst-quenching drink in the sunshine in Bristol.

    A lovely day for watching cricket - perhaps less so if you are an avid Gloucestershire fan as last pair Brad Wheal and Matt Taylor try to keep Somerset at bay until lunch.

    HUGE shout for lbw against Joe Root but the umpire shakes his head.

    The ball from Tom Bailey keeps a little low as Root tries to swat it away and it strikes him on the pad. Maybe a little high.

    Harry Duke gets off the mark by hitting Tom Bailey for back-to-back boundaries.

    The wicketkeeper cuts the paceman in front of point and follows it with an almost identical shot.

    Joe Root then sweeps the first ball of Matt Parkinson's next over to the rope.

  5. Division Two update

    Sussex's first innings has finished at 450 - a 240-run lead over Leicestershire.

    Leus de Plooy was out for 62 but Derbyshire have edged into the lead over Worcestershire as they are 371-6.

    While Alex Lees and Scott Borthwick have put on 70 take Durham to 111-3, a lead of 57 over Glamorgan.

    Sam Hain has moved to 40 not out and Warwickshire really need him to go big in this innings.

    Northants have done a good containing job in this session, with left-armer Simon Kerrigan in his eighth over of his spell and set for a long stint with the ball.

    No sooner had he reached his 50, but Luke Fletcher's time at the crease is up.

    The big man made a half century at number 11 in the first innings and he has done it as a nightwatchman-opener in the second.

    He deservedly gets a generous round of applause as he heads back to the Lord's pavilion.

    Almost all over for Gloucestershire.

    Matt Taylor knocks one into the covers to Somerset captain Tom Abell but there is no chance of a single. He dashes back to his ground, but if Abell had hit the stumps, he would have been a goner.

    Now Jack Leach gets in on the act. A fourth wicket for the left-arm spinner.

    He traps Jacob Bethell plumb in front on the crease and there is no hesitation as the finger goes up.

    The 18-year-old impressed in his two hours out there, but this first innings is now subsiding.

    Harry Brook is looking a million dollars out there.

    The right-hander punches Luke Wood through the covers for his seventh four and then drives him straight for an eighth boundary.

    Bowled him!!! Middle stump out of the ground...

    Zak Chappell's first innings on loan from Nottinghamshire lasts 22 balls before Lewis Gregory cleans him up.

    With Gloucestershire captain Graeme van Buuren unable to bat, they are effectively eight down.

    This is Yorkshire's best spell of the match since the first session on day one.

  16. Division Two update

    Luke Fletcher, who opened for Notts last night as nightwatchman, is up to 42 not out off 50 balls as Nottinghamshire are 53-1 against Middlesex. Fletcher scored a 50 at number 11 in the first innings!

    Sussex have moved to 423-8 against Leicestershire, although Ollie Robinson has just been run out for 26.

    Time for a bit of spin as Matt Parkinson replaces George Balderson.

    The runs keep on flowing for Yorkshire.

    Harry Brook whips George Balderson off his legs for four and ends the over with a beautiful straight punch to the rope.

    Brook has 25 off 20 balls with six boundaries.

    Dom Sibley's stay at the crease is over.

    After 170 balls, he is caught behind off Luke Procter. A century yesterday and he has claimed a vital wicket this morning.

    A good reward for Northants for giving up just 25 runs in the first hour.

  20. Division Two update

    A breakthrough in Derby where Luis Reece is out for 42. The game is fascinatingly poised with Derbyshire 331-5 and just 37 behind Worcestershire.

    England opener Alex Lees is 27 not out as Durham have moved to 83-3, a lead of 29 over Glamorgan.
