Concussion check for Daveypublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Somerset 147-8 v Surrey

We're now in a very strange situation at Taunton, with Josh Davey ALSO hit on the head by a Jamie Overton bouncer.

That blow came just after Overton's short ball had struck his brother Craig - who has now returned to the field to resume his innings!

So, if you can follow this - Davey is now off for a concussion check and Craig Overton has resumed his innings alongside last man Peter Siddle.

for Brookpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Hants v Yorkshire 173-2

    Harry Brook's outstanding campaign continues.

The Yorkshire batter goes past fifty for the ninth time in 10 innings! His lowest score in the County Championship this year is 41.

891 runs at an average of almost 150. And he's not done yet...

  3. ouch!

Brotherly love?published at 15:32 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Somerset 136-8 v Surrey

We've got a stoppage at Taunton right now - because Craig Overton is in some pain and off to have a concussion assessment.

The reason? The Somerset batter has been felled by a sharp bouncer that was delivered by his twin brother, Jamie - and caught him a nasty crack on the helmet.

Craig, along with Josh Davey, had been doing a fine job of frustrating the Surrey bowlers - the pair adding 42 for the ninth wicket.

  4. Hundred on debut for Ravindrapublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Durham 211-1 v Worcestershire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

The New Zealand opener Rachin Ravindra has only been signed by Durham for this match but has repaid their faith with a century on debut.

His 100, which was chanceless, came in 142 balls and contained 17 fours. He is the 11th player to score 100 on debut for the club and the sixth to do it in the County Championship.

The last was Tom Latham at Leicester in 2017.

Ravindra's partnership with Scott Borthwick is worth 179. Borthwick has 77. That is also a record second wicket stand for Durham v The Pears.

    Hammond c Billings b Stewart 66 (Kent v Gloucs 184-4)

Relief for Kent and disappointment for Miles Hammond!

The Gloucestershire batter looked well set for what would have been a first century since 2018 - but Grant Stewart had other ideas, producing a ball that left Hammond late and took the edge.

That ends the 138-run partnership with Glenn Phillips and brings Ryan Higgins, who is captaining the visitors in this game, to the middle.

  6. 6 runs

Postpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Hants v Yorkshire 148-2

George Hill and Harry Brook are on the charge.

Brook hits Hampshire spinner Liam Dawson for a straight six, then flicks him for four and Hill joins in with another straight maximum.

    17 off the over.

  7. Postpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Kent v Gloucs 175-3

Kent have brought back Matt Milnes - who picked up all three wickets in quick succession this morning - but he's had no joy in terms of breaking this fourth-wicket stand.

Miles Hammond has looked imperious, particularly on the off side, and he crashes Milnes to the cover boundary twice in an over to move on to 64, once again overtaking partner Glenn Phillips, who has 62.

    Lamb b Lamb 8 (Warwickshire 142-5 v Lancashire)

Danny Lamb dismisses Warwickshire batter Matt Lamb!

The Lancashire paceman gets one through the Bears number six as he goes for an expansive drive and the hosts are really wobbling now.

  10. Postpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Somerset 111-8 v Surrey

The good news for Somerset fans is that their side have reached three figures - unfortunately they have only two wickets standing.

However, Craig Overton is giving it a go - he pulled Gus Atkinson for two fours to bring the total past 100 and Josh Davey has followed suit, steering Dan Worrall to the fence twice as well.

  11. New record stand for Durhampublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Durham 183-1 v Worcestershire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham are celebrating their 30th anniversary of first-class cricket and it's a record from an early meeting with Worcestershire which has fallen today.

In August 1992 Paul Parker and Phil Bainbridge put on 145 for the second wicket at New Road. Today skipper Scott Borthwick and debutant Kiwi Rachin Ravindra have put together a stand of 150.

Borthwick has 71 and has reached 50 on five occasions this season. Ravindra, who normally plays for Wellington, has 84.

The bowling has not been sloppy but also seems to pose little threat at the moment. Something we have all become familiar with during this summer of batsmen friendly tracks.

WICKETpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Goldsworthy c Patel b Worrall 21 (Somerset 95-8 v Surrey)

Three wickets now for Dan Worrall as he dismisses Lewis Goldworthy, who had batted fairly solidly in the context of this innings.

Goldsworthy departs after edging to third slip, where Ryan Patel juggles but snaps the ball up at the second attempt.

  13. 50 runs

for Hainpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Warwickshire 127-4 v Lancashire

Sam Hain is enjoying some season for Warwickshire.

The right-hander goes past fifty for the fifth time and has also gone beyond 600 runs for the campaign.

It's an innings which has been holding his side together.

  14. 50 runs

for Glenn Phillipspublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Kent v Gloucs 152-3

Now Phillips follows Hammond to 50, getting there with a leg-glance off Matt Quinn for a single.

It's taken Phillips 71 balls and the pair have now stretched their productive fourth-wicket partnership into three figures.

Van der Merwe lbw b Worrall 8 (Somerset 94-7 v Surrey)

Dan Worrall grabs his second wicket as Surrey continue to work their way steadily through this fragile Somerset batting order.

Roelof van der Merwe is the man out, trapped in front. Now it's time for Craig Overton to emerge and try to take a little of the limelight away from his brother...

  16. 50 runs

for Hillpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Hants v Yorkshire 105-2

Yorkshire opener George Hill guides Keith Barker down to the third-man rope to bring up his half-century off 131 balls.

It's been a block or boundary innings with 10 fours in total and a mightily important one for his side.

    Rhodes c Vilas b Williams (Warwickshire 124-4 v Lancashire)

Will Williams grabs his first wicket in a Lancashire shirt!

Left-hander Will Rhodes nibbles at one outside off stump and snicks it behind.

Seamer Williams has 1-16 off 15 overs. Some economy that!

    Gregory c Smith b Overton 0 (Somerset 76-6 v Surrey)

Oh well, no salvage job from Lewis Gregory today!

He's gone for a duck, caught behind off an outswinger from Jamie Overton, who continues to wreak havoc on familiar ground and takes his second wicket in successive overs.

And don't forget, Somerset won the toss this morning...

  19. Division Two updatepublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

Durham debutant Rachin Ravindra has gone past fifty against Worcestershire. Scott Borthwick also has his half-century with the hosts in a really strong position on 138-1.

Leaders Middlesex are in a spot of bother on 111-4 against Derbyshire at Chesterfield.

Tom Clark and Oli Carter have rebuilt nicely for Sussex against Glamorgan in Cardiff. The pair have put on 92 to take the visitors to 121-2.

Leicestershire are also in a really healthy position against East Midlands rivals Notts. They're 155-2 with Lewis Hill unbeaten on 73.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 12 June 2022

    Davies c Worrall b Overton 22 (Somerset 76-5 v Surrey)

Second wicket for ex-Somerset seamer Jamie Overton as Steve Davies is caught at gully by Dan Worrall.

That brings Lewis Gregory to the crease - a man who's salvaged many a sticky situation for Somerset in the past. They need the all-rounder to play that kind of role again today.
