It's a long way from Bazball!

NOTTS DECLARATIONpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Patterson-White c Stoneman b Hollman 50 (Notts 551-8 dec v Middlesex)

Liam Patterson-White is caught the ball after reaching his 50 and Nottinghamshire declare.

A late start to this match today, remember - so Notts will have had that in mind.

  5. 50 runs

    50 for Patterson-Whitepublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Notts 551-7 v Middlesex

It's taken Liam Patterson-White just 72 balls to accumulate his half-century at Trent Bridge as Division Two leaders Nottinghamshire are amassing quite the first-innings total.

  6. Tea at Nevil Roadpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 337, Lancashire 102-1 (37 overs)

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio 5 Lancashire

It's the third time this season Keaton Jennings has passed 50 and on the previous two occasions he's turned a half-century into a century.

The start of the afternoon session belonged to Gloucestershire, a wicket with the first ball after lunch and then a half-hour spell when the bowlers were firmly on top.

Jennings and Josh Bohannon sat in and survived and have since added 95 runs. A terrific afternoon of cricket.

  7. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Chelmsfordpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Essex 238 & 165-7 v Hampshire 163

We had precisely one post-tea over at Chelmsford before the rain fell for the first time in this match.

In fairness it would take continual torrential downpours to prevent a result in this one, given how rapidly wickets have fallen in the first two days.

Shane Snater hit nine runs off that one Brad Wheal over, including two boundaries, while Simon Harmer added a single.

  8. Tea at Hovepublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Derbyshire in complete control at Hove with both Sussex openers already back in the pavilion.

The visitors' tail wagged to good effect after lunch, adding 121 in 21 overs Anuj Dal finishing on a career-best 146 not out, and adding an unbroken 108 for the ninth wicket with Mark Watt.

NORTHANTS ALL OUT AGAINST BEARSpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Northants 451 v Warwickshire

Jack White is last man out, bowled by Oliver Hannon-Dalby.

It took just 40 minutes to finish the hosts off after today's late start. Wickets for OHD in all four of the overs he bowled.

Dom Sibley time now, In the company of Alex Davies.

  12. 50 runs

Half-century for Keaton Jenningspublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Gloucestershire 337, Lancashire 89-1

Keaton Jennings has reached his half-century at Bristol - and it is one of his quicker ones too.

He has already hit 12 fours and a six in his 64 off 77 balls. Clearly a month of T20 has had a positive effect on his timing and shot selection.

  13. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Essex 238 & 155-7 v Hampshire 163

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

Two vital partnerships for Essex have got them in the box seat at Chelmsford.

At 51-5, they were wobbling and Hampshire might have sensed a way back into the match, but Adam Rossington joined Nick Browne to put on 54 before Rossington and Simon Harmer added 47.

Rossington came in to play positively with an early straight six off Liam Dawson setting the tone.

The pitch does not seem to be offering the amount of assistance it was earlier to the spinners but that is before you add in the Simon Harmer factor...

  14. Conners claims double for Derbyshirepublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Derbyshire 551-8 dec v Sussex 27-2

A fine start for Derbyshire with the ball, in particular Sam Conners, who has removed both openers, Ali Orr (5) and Tom Haines (17), to leave Sussex up against it early on at Hove.

  15. wicket

    WICKET - Sanderson c Sibley b Hannon-Dalby 13published at 15:41 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Northants 439-9 v Warwickshire

Oliver Hannon-Dalby takes his third wicket of the day as he has Ben Sanderson caught at slip.

After being put to the sword on Sunday, it is a good comeback by the Bears to earn Warwickshire a third bowling point.

Last man in is Jack White.

  16. wicket

WICKET James c Helm b Hollman 155published at 15:40 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Notts 498-7 v Middlesex

Great effort by Lyndon James but it's all over now, after 19 fours and a six. Only his second century for Notts - and comfortably his best.

A third wicket for young legspinner Luke Hollman.

Liam Patterson-White is joined now by James Pattinson

  17. wicket

    WICKET - Rossington c Fuller b Dawson 60published at 15:37 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Essex 238 & 152-7 v Hampshire 163

Too little, too late for Hampshire perhaps? Important wicket, nonetheless.

Adam Rossington slightly mistimes one and becomes Liam Dawson's fourth victim of the day as James Fuller takes a diving catch at extra cover.

A wonderful 60 from the wicketkeeper, though, that has helped extend Essex's lead to 227. And they still have plenty of batting to come - next man in is proof: Shane Snater hit 71 in the first innings, remember.

  18. Early tea at The Ovalpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Surrey 673-7 dec v Kent 45-1

The drizzle shows no sign of relenting in south London at the minute so both sides are taking an early tea.

Surrey claimed the quick wicket of opener Ben Compton via Sam Curran but Joe Denly (32no) has guided Kent to the interval with few alarms since.

  19. wicket

    WICKET - McManus c Burgess b Hannon-Dalby 58published at 15:23 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Northants 423-8 v Warwickshire

Oliver Hannon-Dalby has now removed both overnight batsmen - in identical fashion.

Lewis McManus is also caught behind for 58, having added just one run.

Just one more wicket needed for that extra bowling point.

    50 for Essex's Rossingtonpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

It's been Adam Rossington to the rescue for Essex.

After his initial burst of boundaries and sixes, the wicketkeeper has calmed things down a little bit but still racked up his 50 off just 52 balls.
